**Your feedback to the show and what worked and what didn’t
Impact begins this week with a traditional highlight package, focusing on the events of last week, and how there is STILL no number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship.
From there, cameras pan to the back, where Jeff Hardy is beating the holy hell out of Bully Ray, in retaliation for Ray’s actions last week. Or perhaps Ray just ate the last doughnut. The brawl continues into the parking garage, where Bobby Roode pulls up in a white pick-up truck and the two heels viciously beat down Hardy. Ray then drops a skid on top of Jeff, as Roode puts the boots to him. They then attempt to load Hardy in the back of Roode’s truck, but then James Storm gets involved and prevents this from happening, until the heels get the advantage on him. Sting then bursts onto the scene and clears them out with his baseball bat (great to see the two top heels in the company running from a non-wrestling performer, who’s twice their age).

The UFC’s sophomore event on FOX takes place Saturday in Chicago as Rashad Evans and Phil Davis clash in a compelling light heavyweight battle, while Chael Sonnen and Michael Bisping vie for a shot at the UFC middleweight championship.
The three-fight main card will also feature a middleweight meeting between Demian Maia and late replacement Chris Weidman. The preliminary action will be broadcast live on Fuel TV with several intriguing fights on tap.
Here’s a closer look at all the action:
Main Bouts (on Fox):
-Rashad Evans (16-1-1) vs. Phil Davis (9-0)
After injuries forced Evans out of two title shots, the former UFC light heavyweight champion gets another chance to cement his No. 1 contender status against Davis, an undefeated prospect coming off the biggest win of his career.
Evans, 32, was initially slated to challenge then-champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC 128, but a knee injury forced him to give up his opportunity to Jon Jones, who made the most of it by trouncing Rua to capture UFC gold.
The turn of events ultimately severed the relationship between Evans and Jones, former teammates, and led Evans to leave Greg Jackson’s camp in New Mexico. He then joined Imperial Athletics in Florida, where he now trains alongside Jorge Santiago, Anthony Johnson and Melvin Guillard.
Evans returned last August, dismantling Tito Ortiz in a stellar performance to prove he still belonged in the title mix.
The brewing rivalry between Evans and Jones was set to culminate with a title clash at UFC 140 this past December, but a lingering thumb injury forced Evans out yet again.
With injuries behind him and his sights set squarely on the seemingly invincible champion, Evans needs a resounding victory to jump ahead of Dan Henderson, another potential upcoming title challenger.

Hotly fancied Middleweight John Ryder will be making his ninth professional appearance at York Hall on Saturday night (January 28), live on Sky Sports HD1 and Sky Sports 1.
A Twitter war broke out over the Islington local’s potential clash with fellow young gun Billy Joe Saunders following an impressive 2011 which saw ‘The Gorilla’ win all six of his bouts catapulting him into the spotlight.
But Ryder says he is happy to take his time and remains one of the most level-headed fighters considering his age and massive talent. And while the rival promoters and Saunders were talking about the fight, Ryder remained silent.
“I just let them get on with it really,” said Ryder, who faces Italian Matteo Rossi on Saturday (5-1-1). “I don’t think there’s any appeal to the fight at the moment really. It needs to build a bit and get some more interest first because when we do eventually fight, it should be a really big occasion. But I have no need to go out and chase a fight with him and he’s the same – it is the sort of fight that needs to have titles on the line as it could be a real classic British title fight one day.

LOS ANGELES (Jan. 26, 2012) – Former World Champions Victor Ortiz and Andre Berto participated in a media conference call yesterday to discuss their upcoming rematch of the 2011 “Fight of the Year” on Saturday, Feb. 11, live on SHOWTIME (9 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the West Coast), from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.
Ten months after their classic slugfest that was named 2011 “Fight of the Year” (USA Today, Ring Magazine), Ortiz (29-3-2, 22 KO’s), of Ventura, Calif., and Berto (28-1, 22 KO’s), of Winter Haven, Fla., will square off again. The eagerly awaited 12-round fight is a rematch of a fiercely contested, multiple-knockdown affair on April 16, 2011 that Ortiz won by a unanimous decision (114-112, 114-111 and 115-110) while capturing Berto’s World Boxing Council (WBC) 147-pound title. Both fighters were knocked down twice in the fight, with Berto being dropped in the first, Ortiz going down a round later and each of them hitting the deck in a wild sixth round that many called the “Round of the Year” for 2011.
