BIGGEST STORY OF 2016

**Tonight is the first Raw of 2017 and takes place from Tampa, Florida at the Amalie Arena and will feature Bill Goldberg on the show. Goldberg is currently scheduled to appear tonight and on the January 23rd episode right before the Royal Rumble. They have also announced a tag match for tonight with Enzo & Big Cass vs. Rusev & Jinder Mahal.

**Following Raw, the WWE Network is debuting a new show called “Bring it to the Table” that will be hosted by Peter Rosenberg with Paul Heyman and JBL debating various topics. Rosenberg worked on the pre-show panel prior to TLC last month and works with HOT 97 out of New York and ESPN. They sent out a screen shot of the show with a PTI style menu of topics that included: Bret Hart and Three Hours of Raw.

**It was reported on Sunday by Ryan Satin at Pro Wrestling Sheet that WrestleMania 34 is expected to take place from New Orleans, Louisiana in 2018. I had been told of the location a few days ago but was unable to confirm but was also told that the announcement is expected for next Tuesday in the city (Raw is in New Orleans next Monday and would make sense timing wise to make the announcement either Monday or Tuesday). It is a quick return to the city as New Orleans hosted WrestleMania in 2014 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

**New Japan Pro Wrestling presents their biggest show of the year early Wednesday morning at 3am Eastern from the Tokyo Dome with Wrestle Kingdom 11. The show will feature English commentary on New Japan World from Kevin Kelly and Steve Corino. Below is the full card:
*New Japan Rumble – The participants listed so far are Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Jushin Thunder Liger, Manabu Nakanishi, Yuji Nagata, Ryusuke Taguchi, Tiger Mask and surprise entrants
*Tiger Mask W vs. Tiger the Dark
*The Young Bucks vs. RPG Vice for the IWGP junior heavyweight tag titles
*Satoshi Kojima & Ricochet & David Finlay vs. Bad Luck Fale & Yujiro & Hangman Page vs. Will Ospreay & Yoshi-Hashi & Jado vs. Sanada & Evil & Bushi in a Gauntlet Match for the NEVER six-man tag titles
*Cody vs. Juice Robinson
*Kyle O’Reilly vs. Adam Cole for the ROH title
*Guerillas of Destiny vs. Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma vs. Tomohiro Ishii & Toru Yano for the IWGP tag titles
*Kushida vs. Hiromu Takahashi for the IWGP junior heavyweight title
*Katsuyori Shibata vs. Hirooki Goto for the NEVER Openweight title
*Tetsuya Naito vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi for the Intercontinental title
*Kazuchika Okada vs. Kenny Omega for the IWGP heavyweight title

**The two-hour World of Sport pilot on ITV averaged 1,250,000 viewers in the U.K. on New Year’s Eve. It is unknown how ITV would proceed and if the number is enough for the network to continue with the wrestling vehicle in the marketplace.

The series does have a direct MMA tie-in as Chael Sonnen is one of the contestants this season.

**WWE performer Tyson Kidd (T.J. Wilson) was in Las Vegas for the UFC 207 card as he is good friends with Cody Garbrandt.

**Dr. AnnMaria DeMars, the mother of Ronda Rousey, spoke to TMZ on Friday evening following the loss by Rousey to Amanda Nunes at UFC 207. DeMars stated she hopes her daughter retires because she has many talents and wouldn’t go into any critique of coach Edmond Tarverdyan but did say that her opinion has not changed of him (she is not a fan):
