LAW Aug. 17 Update – Punk Backs Washington Release

**Here are the matches on WWE ‘Smackdown’ tonight at 8pm EST on SyFy and The Score in Canada, taped this past Tuesday night in Austin, Texas:
*The Miz & Cody Rhodes Vs Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara
*Curt Hawkins & Tyler Reks Vs ???
*Eve Vs Kaitlyn with the winner becoming Booker T’s assistant
*Randy Orton Vs Daniel Bryan
*Zack Ryder Vs Antonio Cesaro

**The latest edition of Review-An-Impact is up on the site at featuring Wai Ting, Nate Milton and I chatting last night’s show, which may have featured the dumbest stipulation in the history of wrestling matches. You can download the show or subscribe to ‘Live Audio Wrestling’ on iTunes.

**The WWE crew is all in Los Angeles this weekend for a ton of events leading up to ‘SummerSlam’ including Fan Axxess as well as numerous parties around the city. The company has made ‘SummerSlam’ a huge networking event every year with the strategic decision to put the show in L.A. every year dating back to 2009.

**CM Punk spoke to TMZ and was asked about the firing of Abraham Washington and said he doesn’t find rape jokes funny and the company was justified to release him but is never happy to see someone lose their job.

**The ‘SummerSlam’ card currently has seven matches scheduled (plus the YouTube pre-show match) with Damien Sandow Vs Brodus Clay and Cody

**The TNA crew is in Spencer, Iowa tonight for a house show and then head to Ottumwa, Iowa on Saturday.

**TNA announced Hulk Hogan’s return to television next week at 8pm EST to start the show with the tease of a big brawl between Aces and Eights and the TNA locker room to start off the show.

**Taryn Terrell of all people debuted last night on ‘Impact’ as the mystery guest referee for the Madison Rayne Vs Miss Tessmacher match with Tessmacher winning back the Knockout’s Title. For those unfamiliar (and there seemed to be a building full of them last night) she worked as ‘Tiffany’ in the WWE from 2008-10 as the assistant to Teddy Long and later as the General Manager of ECW. She was married to Drew McIntyre but following an incident where she attacked McIntyre and was arrested the two divorced shortly thereafter and Terrell was eventually released from the company. Terrell has a role in ‘The Campaign’ that is in theatres right now.

**Christina Crawford, the younger sister of Alicia Fox was released this past week from her WWE developmental deal. Crawford was working in FCW prior to last year’s ‘Tough Enough’ where she was put onto the show before returning to FCW. It’s amazing that the legacy of that season of ‘Tough Enough’ is going to be the fact that the very first elimination (Ariane Andrews), who was the butt of all the jokes for her Melina Vs Alicia Fox comment is the only one to make it of all the contestants (and the fact that Austin Aries was turned down for the show).

**TripleMania from a few weeks back will be airing on the AAA website at starting this Sunday and broken up into three parts.

**The all-women’s SHINE promotion has their second iPPV tonight headlined by Mercedes Martinez Vs Jazz and airing live at

**The WWE has launched their free app and it is available now in the Apple store.

**The ‘Raw’ tapings on Monday night are in Fresno, California and then ‘Smackdown’ tapes Tuesday night in Bakersfield.

**Trish Stratus will be releasing ‘Stratusphere Yoga for Men’ on DVD this October.

**Former NFL player and WCW talent Steve McMichael is planning to run for mayor in Romeoville, Illinois. The election takes place next spring and has yet to officially enter the race.

**Here is the Gut Check feature from last night with Nashville based independent wrestler, Kris Lewie:

*T.J. Cook Vs Ovince St. Preux
*Lumumba Sayers Vs Anthony Smith

PRELIMINARY FIGHTS (airing at 8pm EST on Sho Extreme in the U.S.)
*Julie Kedzie Vs Miesha Tate
*Matt Ricehouse Vs Bobby Green
*Adlan Amagov Vs Keith Berry
*Hiroka Yamanaka Vs Germaine de Randamie

**Legacy Fighting Championship has a card tonight on AXS TV in the U.S. headlined by Derrick Lewis Vs Jared Rosholt for the vacant Heavyweight Title for the promotion. Chris Tickle, who was featured on the last season of TUF is also fighting on the card.

**Despite a title fight among the three fights announced for the UFC on FOX 5 event December 8th the UFC is still planning to add a fourth fight to the televised portion.
