LAW July 19 Update – OFN Tonight and TNA Signs Guerrero

**Tonight TNA ‘Impact’ is live from Orlando, Florida headlined by Austin Aries Vs Bobby Roode in a non-title match and the return of ‘Open Fight Night’ tonight. They are also bringing back the Gut Check challenge even though they didn’t mention it on the broadcast last week when promoting the next week’s events. Spike TV will not be airing ‘Rewind’ tonight and may be done after only one-week on the station and doing well below the station average for that time slot.

**We will be back with Review-An-Impact late tonight featuring Wai Ting and myself running down the show and chatting with Nate Milton and taking your feedback to Open Fight Night.

**The WWE got some great news heading into next week’s ‘Raw’ with this past Monday’s edition doing a 3.44 rating and averaging 4,880,000 viewers.

**Raymond Rafool, the attorney for Elizabeth Huberdeau told on Wednesday that the divorce between his client and John Cena has been settled and the terms were reached amicably.

**In case three-hours isn’t enough for you on Monday the WWE has announced a thirty-minute pre-show to air on and their YouTube channel at 7:30pm EST leading into the 1,000th edition of the show.

**TNA announced on their website today that they have signed Chavo Guerrero and he will debut on ‘Impact’ next Thursday night on the live show.

**Next week’s edition of Review a Wai will feature a review of the WWE ‘Great American Bash’ from 2006 featuring the Punjabi Prison Match and we will also welcome former WWE creative member Court Bauer to the program to chat about that time period and his initial idea that became the Punjabi Prison.

**A graph put together by Arda Ocal of The Score detailing every conceivable stat you can bring up about ‘Raw’ at your next family function.

**Caprice Coleman and Cedric Alexander are the latest tag team to be entered into the ROH Tag Title tournament beginning August 3rd at the television tapings in Baltimore. The titles were vacated after Kenny King worked the live edition of ‘Impact’ a few weeks back while still holding the titles with Rhett Titus.

**The theme song for the August 12th TNA ‘Hardcore Justice’ event will be ‘Before the Fall’ by September Mourning.

**The latest edition of THE MMA REPORT with John Pollock is up at featuring a big preview of UFC 149 this weekend including chats with Hector Lombard and Tim Boetsch, who square off Saturday night, UFC middleweight Court McGee and Director of Operations for the UFC in Canada Tom Wright also stops by. You can download the show directly or grab it off of iTunes by searching for ‘The MMA Report’ or using The LAW’s RSS feed. The program will also air on TSN 1050 Toronto Friday night at Midnight EST.

**The UFC 149 press conference took place earlier today and aired live on Fight Network. UFC President Dana White shot down the idea of Hector Lombard fighting Mark Munoz if he wins Saturday night and said Munoz is coming off a loss and that wouldn’t make sense. Lombard has said the day prior he would turn down a title shot to fight Munoz over something Munoz said about him. White also said that Joe Silva and he have been going over numerous ideas for future middleweight fights with so many contenders emerging and will have an announcement after the card Saturday night. White also said if the UFC were to add another division they would consider a 115-pound division, which seems like a big mistake as they are having trouble gaining traction with the 145, 135 and 125 divisions right now and adding any more divisions at this point seems too much at the present.

**Fight Network will also be airing the UFC 149 weigh-ins live tomorrow at 6pm EST hosted by myself alongside John Ramdeen and Robin Black with pre and post analysis.

**Jason Agnew and I will be hosting The LAW’s UFC 149 Post Show on Saturday night right after the main card concludes. We will be joined by Paul ‘The Mauler’ Lazenby, who will be covering the show live from the ScotiaBank Saddledome and we will also be taking your phone calls.

**The UFC’s return to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on October 13th will be headlined by Jose Aldo defending the Featherweight Title against Erik Koch, which was slated to be the main event for this Saturday’s card in Calgary but fell apart when Aldo was injured in training. This will be Aldo’s second fight in Brazil this year after he stopping Chad Mendes with one second remaining in the opening round of their title bout at UFC 142 in January.

**A lightweight bout between Evan Dunham and T.J. Grant and a light heavyweight fight between the returning Vinny Magalhaes and Igor Pokrajac have been added to the UFC 152 card in Toronto on September 22nd.

**A welterweight bout between Jake Ellenberger and Josh Koscheck has been announced for the September 1st UFC 151 card in Las Vegas, Nevada. Both are coming off of losses with Ellenberger being stopped by Martin Kampmann at the TUF Live Finale in June and Koscheck dropping his last bout to Johny Hendricks by split decision at the UFC on FOX 3 card.

**This past Saturday’s Strikeforce event in Portland, Oregon headlined by Luke Rockhold defeating Tim Kennedy averaged 420,000 viewers on Showtime in the U.S.
