Looking Ahead to WWE TLC

WWE presents its annual event where 3 famous wrestling weapons are legal – Tables, Ladders and Chairs. It takes place in 3 weeks from the brand new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. They sure love that New York place, don’t they? TLC offers up a handful of hardcore style matches and often concludes feuds that started at or continued through the last pay per view, Survivor Series.

After one week of build to the event, 1 match has already been announced. Big Show and Sheamus will likely conclude their current rivalry in a Chairs Match for the World Heavyweight Championship. This feud has really elevated Big Show’s character and he is now, once again, looked at as a huge threat to anybody else on the roster. I don’t think it would be smart for WWE to just throw out all the work they put into the Big Show by having him lose the title to former champion, Sheamus. It’s not like they haven’t done that before though so I wouldn’t be surprised. Regardless of what happens, it’s pretty obvious that Dolph Ziggler will be cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase soon and it could very well be on whoever wins this matchup.

As wierd as it sounds, Ryback still wants to eat CM Punk. Not literally, but by taking his WWE Championshp. And after Ryback attempted to attack Punk at his year-long title run celebration, last week on Raw, it’s apparent that he will probably be getting his opportunity to do just that. We all know Ryback isn’t going to win the WWE Championship and then go on to face The Rock at the Royal Rumble. So, if this match does take place, it will be three months in a row that Ryback is losing on pay per view. Sure, you can dance around it and say that he got screwed both times, by Brad Maddox at Hell in a Cell and by the NXT rookies at Survivor Series but in the end, a loss is a loss. In order to do damage control on Ryback’s character, WWE should make this a Tables Match against CM Punk because you don’t have to be pinned in order to lose a Tables Match.

In what seems to be getting the most hype, the John Cena and Dolph Ziggler feud will likely see it’s first pay per view matchup at TLC. Now, I’m not sure what they’d be retrieving from atop the ladder, but I expect this match to be either a Ladder Match or the total package, a Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match. Maybe a contract for who the General Manager of Raw should be? If Ziggler wins, Vickie will keep her job and if Cena wins, AJ will reclaim her spot, controlling the show. Both of these guys are great workers and if I had to pick 1 match that I’m most looking forward to, it’s this one. Believe me, I’m shocked that I picked a John Cena match. I have no idea what direction this one will go, but I have high hopes that it will be an entertaining match.

WWE Tables Ladders and Chairs is one of the most fun pay per views of the year and if the card is anything like I predict it will be, 2012’s edition will be no different. Thanks for reading.
