Going up against the College Football Playoff National Championship game, Raw held up fairly well with approximately 2,907,000 viewers watching Monday’s show on the USA Network. This was only down slightly from last week’s average of 3,040,000 viewers.

The show was strengthened through the promotion of The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels appearing on the program with the tease throughout the first two-hours of the show of ‘Taker showing up.

The opening hour averaged 3,014,000 and stayed consistent in the second hour with 3,019,000 and then experienced a drop down to 2,689,000 for the final hour and the main event with Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens & Chris Jericho.

The football game did 24,391,000 between Alabama and Clemson and way above what any Monday Night Football game does.

Raw is now free of football competition until September when the NFL returns.

Next week’s edition of Raw features Brock Lesnar on the show and then January 23rd episode will feature both Lesnar and Bill Goldberg, prior to the Royal Rumble.
