LAW Aug 11 Update - Randy Orton in Motorcycle Accident
John Pollock / August 11, 2008 - 5:26pm
**Last night was the TNA "Hard Justice" Pay Per View event and overall it was a fine show in the ring but as everyone expected going into the show there was too much "hardcore" style matches and I think it hindered the event especially the main event, which for the second month in a row got the shaft time wise after matches on the undercard went long (in this case Angle and Styles went way long, going 25-minutes). The tease at the end is for Jeff Jarrett to finally return to TV after being off since May of 2007, likely culminating with a match at "Bound for Glory" in October. The plan is to turn Sting heel, which could be a huge mistake at this point in his career (it reminds me a lot of when they turned The Undertaker heel in late 2001 and it's going to be very difficult to turn him). The Angle Vs Styles match was an outstanding match with a dangerous looking finish with the DDT off the top rope, however Styles completely protected Angle when they showed the spot from a different angle. The only major complaint I had was the Black Machismo Vs Sonjay Dutt match, which was killed by the stipulation and was a prime example of a gimmick match killing what could have been a great match.
