M-1 Global: Fedor vs. Rizzo Live Quick Shots

Below are the quick results from Fight Network's LIVE presentation of M-1 Global: Fedor vs. Rizzo from Ice Palace in Moscow, Russia:

-Fedor Emelianenko vs. Pedro Rizzo

Round 1:

Quick touch of gloves and the main event in underway. Couple of quick punches from Rizzo miss as Fedor methodically moves forward. Big left hits Rizzo but he’s unfazed. Fedor lunges forward with a series of punches that knock Rizzo to the ground followed by ground-and-pound that knocks the Brazilian clean out.

Winner: Fedor Emelianenko via KO (Punches) at 1:24, Round 1

-Guram Gugenishvili vs. Kenny Garner (heavyweight title)

Round 1

Garner comes out fast, but Gugenishvili wastes no time putting him on his back. Garner trying to escape to his feet now but gives up his back in the process. Gugenishvili working the choke but Garner does a good job of turning and ending up in his opponent's guard. Garner on top now and he passes to side control. Quick scramble and both men get back up. Garner with some big strikes and he puts down the Georgia native. Garner back on top and he starts to work for a keylock. Gugenishvili looks to be in pain but it's short-lived as he escapes the position. 30 seconds left and Garner starts to rain down the ground-and-pound as the round comes to a close. 10-9 Garner.

Round 2

Two low kicks from Gugenishvili to start the second round. Both men circle briefly before Gugenishvili takes the fight to the mat. On the ground now, Garner looking for a sweep and he succeeds. Gugenishvili on his back now, but he’s not offering much. Garner moves to side control as he looks to sink in an armlock. Garner gives up the hold and the referee stands them up shortly thereafter. Garner with a wild right hand that misses as the second round ends. 10-9 Garner.

Round 3

Both men exchange quickly and Garner nails Gugenishvili with a hard punch. Double-leg takedown lands for the Georgia-born fighter, who looks to shake off the cobwebs. Gugenishvili with a quick pass to mount followed by a solid armbar attempt. The move looks tight but Garner is able to get out and reverse the position. Garner on top now looking for a submission of his own. Inexplicably, the referee stands them up and it plays out perfectly for Garner, who swarms his exhausted foe. Big punches coming from the American but the round ends and Gugenishvili survives. 10-9 Garner. Gugenishvili quits in between rounds, awarding Garner the M-1 championship.

Winner: Kenny Garner via TKO (retirement) at 5:00, Round 3

-Musa Khamanev def. Daniel Weichel via Submission (heel hook) at 1:48, Round 1, claims M-1 Global lightweight title

-Jeff Monson vs. Denis Komkin

Round 1

Both men touch gloves and this heavyweight fight is underway. Monson wastes no time shooting in but he’s sprawled out by Komkin, who ends up on top. Monson looking to sweep and he does, ending up in side control. Komkin looking for a choke but he’s in no position to put away the former ADCC champ. Monson passes to north-south now and sinks in his favorite choke.

Winner: Jeff Monson via Submission (north-south choke) at 1:58, Round 1
