LAW Aug. 19 Update - SummerSlam Tonight
John Pollock / August 19, 2012 - 3:15pm
**Tonight is the WWE ‘SummerSlam’ card from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. We have a full preview of the show up on the website running down the entire card. Here is the quick lineup tonight:
*Brock Lesnar Vs Triple H
*CM Punk Vs John Cena Vs Big Show for the WWE Title
*Sheamus Vs Alberto Del Rio for the World Title
*Daniel Bryan Vs Kane
*Dolph Ziggler Vs Chris Jericho
*The Miz Vs Rey Mysterio for the Intercontinental Title
*Kofi Kingston & R-Truth Vs The Prime Time Players for the Tag Titles
*Santino Marella Vs Antonio Cesaro for the U.S. Title on the YouTube pre-show at 7:30pm EST
**The show will also feature Kevin Rudolf performing the theme song ‘Don’t Give Up’ on the live broadcast.
**Tonight on The LAW Dan ‘The Mouth’ Lovranski, Jason Agnew and myself will have a full rundown of the ‘SummerSlam’ card as soon as it ends at 11pm EST. We will be taking your phone calls all show long at 1-855-591-6876 and locally at 416-870-1050 with your reactions to SummerSlam and also chatting with Dave Meltzer of the ‘Wrestling Observer Newsletter’. We will also be giving away a pair of tickets to watch the September 8th ‘Smackdown’ house show in Hamilton with all of us at The LAW – simply send an email to email@example.com letting us know where you live and the person travelling the furthest wins the tickets. Tune in tonight at 11pm EST on TSN 1050 Toronto and online here on the website.
**The prize on Title Bout Trivia tonight will be the ‘ECW: Unreleased Volume 1’ DVD from E1 Entertainment.
**Kurt Angle randomly tweeted Saturday night that if he is used as a top guy in TNA he will stay with the company and if not then he will make a business decision. Angle signed a multi-year extension last year with TNA and wouldn’t be able to leave anytime soon if he wanted to (unless it’s to pursue politics of course).
**We will talk more about this tonight on The LAW but things are not good right now between TNA and Julia Reilly (Claire Lynch) and the angle could be wrapped up sooner than anticipated.
**The roster of playable characters for WWE ’13 was announced on Saturday by THQ with the list of current stars and the Attitude Era stars in the game. Kharma and The Bella Twins are all in the game despite no longer being with the company while Natalya was not included (and that’s a significant monetary hit to be left out of the game). Among the Attitude Era stars in the game are The Road Warriors, Ken Shamrock, Mike Tyson, New Age Outlaws, Vader and Trish Stratus.
**We send our thoughts out to Dutch Mantel and his entire family following the passing of Mantel’s granddaughter, Amelia. She was driving and was hit by a speeding car and died instantly with the other drive also be killed in the accident. She was only 16-years old and it’s a really sad story.

LAW MMA UPDATE
**Here are the results from the Strikeforce ‘Rousey Vs Kaufman’ card held in San Diego, California last night:
*Bobby Green over Matt Ricehouse by unanimous decision (30-27 all)
*Germaine de Randamie over Hiroko Yamanaka by unanimous decision (30-27 all)
*Adlan Amagov over Keith Berry by TKO at 0:48 of Round 1 (this was a controversial finish as Amagov delivered an illegal kick but the fight was stopped when Berry went down and Herb Dean didn’t understand what he said to him and Berry is planning to protest)
*Miesha Tate over Julie Kedzie by armbar at 3:28 of Round 3
*Ovince St. Preux over T.J. Cook by KO at 0:20 of Round 3
*Tarec Saffiedine over Roger Bowling by unanimous decision (30-27 all)
*Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza over Derek Brnson by KO at 0:41 of Round 1
*Ronda Rousey over Sarah Kaufman by armbar at 0:53 of Round 1 to retain the Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Title
**Rousey continued her stance after the fight that she wants to fight Cris ‘Cyborg’ Santos but only if Santos makes 135-pounds as she feels it doesn’t make any sense to go up in weight to fight her.
**Jon Jones spoke to ESPN this week and said he doesn’t want to fight Lyoto Machida because of there being a high risk and little reward. He cited his fight with Machida at UFC 140 being the lowest drawing fight compared to Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua, Quinton Jackson and Rashad Evans.
