LAW Sept. 17 Update - Lawler Released From Hospital
John Pollock / September 17, 2012 - 4:35pm
**Sunday’s edition of The LAW is up on the site with Dan Lovranski and Jason Agnew reviewing the Night of Champions card from Boston and getting you up to date on Jerry Lawler’s heath status. We also chat with Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and lots of your phone calls discussing the pay-per-view, Lawler and more. For those that download the show you will also get a bonus LAW Xtra segment as I recap the Ring of Honor Death Before Dishonor X event from Saturday. You can download the show at http://fightnetwork.com/news/33626:sept.-16-edition-of-the-law-night-of-champions/ or grab it off of iTunes.
**The WWE released a statement late this afternoon that Jerry Lawler has been released from hospital in Montreal and is on his way home to Memphis.
**John Cena came out of the match with CM Punk last night a severely swollen ankle that was detectable early on in the match where Cena rolled to the floor and was having trouble putting weight on it.
**There was an incident involving Randy Orton and a fan at ringside during his match with Dolph Ziggler. Orton yelled at the fan during the match and then flipped him off near the finish and later apologized on Twitter for his actions.
**Tonight Raw is in Bridgeport, Connecticut and JBL will be back tonight calling the show with Michael Cole.
**The WWE has six-weeks in between pay-per-views with Hell in a Cell not taking place until October 28th with the company cutting back from two shows in October to just one. They will have a three-week turnaround after that show for the Survivor Series, which is scheduled for November 18th (and unfortunately is the night after UFC 154 with Carlos Condit Vs Georges St-Pierre as your tentative headliner).
**Wai Ting and I are back with Review-A-Raw later tonight after the show running down the show and taking your feedback, that you can leave on The LAW Message Board right after Raw concludes.
**The Smacdown tapings are in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Tuesday night.
**A caller last night attended the TNA house show in Wilkes-Barre and Matt Morgan was on the show again and is doing a gimmick where he tries to storm the ring and pulled away by security. The caller also noted Kurt Angle was helped to the back after his six-man tag so his hamstring is giving him lots of problems and probably shouldn’t be working house shows. Angle did post on Twitter that it’s “just a little leg injury” and he will be selective in what he does (I don’t believe him).
**Ring of Honor sent out the following statement apologizing for the technical issues for Death Before Dishonor X on Saturday:
We apologize greatly those that had issues with the internet payperview on Saturday evening. The issue turned out to be that there was a glitch with the auto-switching between different quality streams in an effort to deliver the best possible stream to all viewers based on their internet speed.
Because of the lack of incident at any of our staffed locations, and favorable technical reports, it became difficult to isolate the issue. Still, we were able to ultimately solve the problem and all viewers were able to watch the pay per view from that point onward.
In stopping the stream to rectify the issue, we were not able to save it as one file therefore right now, only the second half of the show is available as a replay. The full show will be up as soon as it can be rendered into one file.
We do realize that for some fans, you may have missed a significant portion of the first half of the show, and while we hope that the action in the second half of the show was more than worth it, we would like to offer a make-good for the first half by sending everyone that purchased the iPPV up until 9:00pm on the night of the event, a FREE copy of the DVD when it is released. In addition, and as always, the FULL replay will be up as soon as it is ready.
We also hope you understand, that with any production, a number of issues can occur, and that our ultimate goal is to prevent these issues and continue striving to deliver to you, our devoted fans, the BEST wrestling and internet pay per view in the world.
If for some reason, it is felt that the free DVD and continued access to the replay for a year are not a fair make-good for the issues that occurred on Saturday, refund requests will be honored until 12:00 NOON EST on Tuesday, September 18th, 2012. Please send ALL requests to firstname.lastname@example.org. Any processed refunds will nullify the free DVD offer and access to the replay.
Thank you for your continued loyalty and support. We do hope that you will join us for our next iPPV, Saturday October 13th, 2012.
**TJ Perkins is done with Ring of Honor and worked a dark match at the Impact tapings last Thursday in Orlando.
**Former WWE developmental talent Brandi Lee (and girlfriend of Cody Rhodes) posted the following on Twitter:
So…who exactly are the Sin Cara fans? I never see or hear them. I'm a fan of his blooper reel…oh that was a maaaatch #yikes
**Here is the Hell in a Cell promo that one of the callers from last night was referencing:
**For those that heard William Regal’s two-part interview with Colt Cabana on The Art of Wrestling podcast, here is the segment he discussed with Bobby Eaton and going around Hollywood to a bunch of locations including the home of Nicole Brown:
**The WWE announced to the live crowd in Boston that they will be coming back for the April 9th Smackdown television tapings coming out of WrestleMania 29.
**The 380-day WWE Title reign of John Cena began on this date in 2006 defeating Edge at the Unforgiven event that year at the Air Canada Centre. We recently reviewed this show on Review-A-Wai and can be heard in our archives.
