Ariel Shnerer / October 8, 2012 - 4:07pm

Dropping to welterweight for the first time in his career, Josh Hinkle will make his King of the Cage return this Saturday at King of the Cage: Double Down at Gold Country Casino Resort in Oroville, Calif.

Full press release below:

Saturday, October 13th, 2012 King of the Cage Inc. the world wide leader in live MMA events and Magnaflow Exhaust products and Lucas Oil presents "Double Down." This event will be held at the beautiful Gold Country Casino Resort located in Oroville California.

Returning to the King of the Cage line up is a local favorite Josh Hinkle. Josh was the #1 contender for the 170 lb Welterweight Belt and is now dropping to 155 to prove himself as a contender for that belt as well. Josh a veteran in the sport first stepped into the KOTC arena in November 2011 at the "Cage Quest" event; fighting through a hand that was broken in the 1st round and then all the way to a decision against Kenneth Alexander. Proving his game has not been affected by that set back, he takes on Johnavan Vistante. Johnavan is coming over from the islands and is extremely tough. He's mainly a stand up fighter with a winning record who just went 5 rounds to a decision with Charles Bennett in Hawaii September 8th. So Josh will have his hands full of trouble with this very aggressive Hawaiian.

Also, tribal member Aaron Hedrick and a fellow teammate of Josh Hinkle returns again to King of the Cage fighting Tramain Smith who trains under Northern California legend Dave Huckaba. Both fighters have 10 professional fights, both have good stand up and good ground defense and both have more to prove.

For some female fight entertainment we welcome Maria Andaverde. This mother of four started her fight career in amateur boxing at the age of 16. She discovered 10 yrs later, that Mixed Martial Arts was where her destiny lied. She has trained in many styles including Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Kickboxing and wrestling and when asked about training with women she says that "its hard to find a woman who doesn't mind being hit"; so training with male teammates definitely pushes her harder than any woman could.

Also on this card is KOTC Veteran Josh Paiva fighting Robby Schepps, Nick Christie vs Tony Juarez, Charlie Huston vs Nathan Pillsbury, Keani Sebala vs Samantha Quinn Hester, Josh Miranda vs John Corstorphine, Demitry Moore vs Jordan Bailey, Hakim Wylee vs Nick Williams, Tom Cook vs Sean Nelson and Garrett Daniel vs Connor Miller
