Fight Bites for Nov. 2 - Kung Fu Grandma Of The Day
Collin Van Ooyen / November 2, 2012 - 5:09pm
The Double Knockout
Knockout #1 (above) comes via Knoxx Gear video interviewer Meredith Divita. This former pre-school teacher is a graduate of Cal State East Bay university and an avid fan of mixed martial arts, so when she sits down with fighters for a chat, more than just her looks jump off the screen.

Knockout #2 comes by way of a vicious muay thai head kick. The poor soul on the receiving end of this beating just didn’t know when to stay down.
Despicable Cheap Shot Of The Day
Fans at this Reno, Nevada MMA event came expecting to see a slobber-knocker, and that’s exactly what they got, although not the way that anyone expected. Chris Sheridan is the name of the classy individual who socks his opponent with a looping haymaker while the two are touching gloves. Sheridan tops off his unsportsmanlike conduct by gloating and using some obscene language in his post-fight interview.
Swagger Check Of The Day
Confidence is always one of the biggest weapons a fighter has at their disposal, but there can always be too much of a good thing. In what seems to be a kickboxing or MMA match, one fighter learns all too quickly that taunting your opponent might not always work in your favor.
Double Headbutt Fail of The Day
Coming to us all the way from Poland, this video showcases a pair of fighters who had a meeting of the minds in the most awkward possible way. Funny enough, their egos may have actually been physically bruised after this.
Old Man Beatdown Of The Day
In this jeet kune do demonstration, we see a pair of students get absolutely owned by their teacher, who looks like he should be enjoying his pension somewhere rather than throwing down in a dojo. I’ve haven’t seen this combination of silver hair and lightning fast hands since a pack of wolves tried to fight Liam Neeson. Thanks to Jerry Power (@jpower38 on twitter) for the submission.
Kung Fu Grandma Of The Day
Have you ever reflected on a dream that got away from you and thought to yourself that it’s just too late to try? Well tell that to Kay D’Arcy, the star of a new kung fu new web series called “Agent 88.” D’Arcy, a former midwife who moved to Hollywood at age 69 to chase her dream of becoming an actress, plays a highly trained covert assassin and performs many of her own fight scenes. D’Arcy’s is an inspiring story, so on behalf of everyone who got a late start on their calling, we need you, boomin’ granny.

Stuntman Salute Of The Day
If you can make it through this video without getting nauseous, then you have a stronger stomach than I. In today’s stuntman salute, we check out Ryan Rempfer’s demo reel, which consists almost entirely of jumping and flipping spin kicks. I have this sneaking suspicion that a lot of these shots were cut right before he staggered off and fell over from dizziness.
If you've got a funny, obscure, bizarre, or just plain crazy martial arts story or video that you'd like showcased on Fight Bites, send your submissions via e-mail to Collin@fightnetwork.com, or Tweet @fightnet with the hash tag #FightBites
