Adrien Broner Goes Gangnam Style

Corey Erdman / November 12, 2012 - 12:32pm

Outside of Floyd Mayweather, no fighter in the sport of boxing has provided more social media fodder than Adrien Broner. From lewd photos, to proposals, to music videos, "The Problem" has either been a publicists's dream or nightmare for the past year and a half.

This weekend he decided to have a little harmless fun and hop on the Gangnam Style train, showing his dancing abilities in the Staples Centre press room prior to the Abner Mares-Anselmo Moreno Showtime card.

Broner told reporter Elie Seckbach that he would break out the dance if ("when," as he puts it) he knocks out Antonio DeMarco this weekend in Atlantic City.

While it would be cute and all, Gangnam Style as sports celebration is already old news. Football players across the country have been using it to celebrate touchdowns, sacks, and everything in between.

The 23-year old is moving away from the "Mayweather clone" label slowly but surely. If he wants to move away from the phony creation assumption, but is fine with playing the bad guy, then he should come up with his own celebration.

The more outrageous and more original, the better.
