Leon Senior On Way to Southern Area via Poland
Fight Network Staff / November 23, 2012 - 12:43pm
Kent light-heavyweight Leon Senior has his final outing next month before a tilt at the Southern Area title in March.
Senior, who trains out of the SW gym in Loughton, returned to the sport in May 2012 after taking a four-year sabbatical. Since his return, he has recorded three low-key wins but now steps up the quality of opposition as he faces Poland's Bartlomiej Grafka, who has won seven of his 11 fights. The pair will face off on Steve Goodwin's huge 'Earthquake in Essex' bill in Brentwood on December 8th.
"I know this is a tough fight for me," said Senior, "but I need a serious test as on March 9th I have my big chance with a Southern Area title fight against Jack Morris at York Hall.
"To be fighting for a Southern Area title just ten months after my comeback will be a dream come true. I have a great team behind me. Micky Amoo (manager), Archie Dublin (trainer), and Steve Goodwin (promoter) have all made this possible.
"I have a large Irish fan base as well as English supporters and they will be out in force at Brentwood."
The Senior v Grafka fight is part of the exciting 15-fight 'Earthquake in Essex' at Brentwood on December 8th. The card features the Southern Area title rematch between Kris Agyei-Dua and Nathan Graham, as well as the heavyweight grudge match between Ian Lewison and undefeated Dorian Darch.
