Price-Skelton, Guzman-Allakhverdiev LIVE TODAY on FN

Fight Network Staff / November 26, 2012 - 4:15pm

Toronto – Canada's Fight Network, the world's premier 24/7 television channel dedicated to complete coverage of combat sports, will be broadcasting a live doubleheader in the sweet science on Nov. 30.

First, David Price returns to defend his British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles against Matt Skelton at the Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool, U.K.

Next, the vacant WBA junior welterweight title is on the line at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, FL., as Joan Guzman battles Khabib Allakhverdiev.

The live broadcast of Price-Skelton on Fight Network will commence at 2:30 p.m. ET with Guzman-Allakhverdiev scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The 29-year-old Price (14-0, 12 KOs) last saw action on Oct. 13, dismantling Audley Harrison in the first round of their heavyweight clash live on Fight Network. The highly touted Liverpool native has beaten the likes of Raphael Butler, John McDermott and Sam Sexton.

The 45-year-old Skelton (28-6, 23 KOs) is unbeaten in his last five fights with three consecutive TKO victories over Tom Dallas, Ladislav Kovarik and Jakov Gospic. A native of Bedford, U.K., Skelton is hoping to prove he still has what it takes to hang with the sport's young guns.

The 36-year-old Guzman (33-0-1, 20 KOs) is unbeaten in his professional career. The native of Dominican Republic is coming off three straight knockout wins over Jorge Pimentel, Jesus Pabon and Florencio Castellano.

The 29-year-old Allakhverdiev (17-0, 8 KOs) also boasts an unblemished professional record. The Russian prospect scored his biggest career win when he outpointed Nate Campbell in September 2011. He has since rattled off a pair of knockout wins over Ignacio Mendoza and Kaizer Mabuza.

"This is an exciting championship doubleheader that will kick off a stacked slate of live programming during the month of December," said Chad Midgley, VP of Programming & Production at Fight Network. "With the WBA and Commonwealth titles on the line, we'll see if Skelton and Guzman still have what it takes as they approach the tail-end of their respective careers."
