Fight Network to Air Muay Thai Reality Series 'Tuff Girls'

Fight Network Staff / November 29, 2012 - 2:00pm

Toronto – Canada’s Fight Network, the world’s premier 24/7 television channel dedicated to complete coverage of combat sports, will broadcast the Muay Thai reality series Tuff Girls.

Premiering on December 7, new episodes of Tuff Girls will air Fridays at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The new series follows nine talented female fighters of different skill levels and the Thai champions they must overcome in their journey to win a Muay Thai championship in Thailand, the mecca of the sport. These female fighters live and train together with legendary trainer Master Toddy in his new Bangkok gym, Ultra Fight Gym, for six weeks with the help of several talented fight mentors and instructors.

This new series focuses entirely on the physical and mental training that these girls must go through to win the Muay Thai championship, as well as the traditional training of the Thai champions they must face. To earn their chance in the top five, these Tuff Girls must first fight each other. The loser must go home, while the winner goes through a more intensified training in order to fight against some of the toughest Muay Thai champions in Thailand.

Fight Network originally aired the reality series Fight Girls, which transcended across borders, leading to women from all over the world becoming increasingly interested in the art of Muay Thai. With this, Master Toddy set out to build a new group of Tuff Girls and found Nicole Coleman, Caitlin Mercer, Kathi Fabbri, Justine Kish, Louise Bryan, Kathryn March, Sandy Furner, Sarah George and Sarah Rankin.

“Longtime Fight Network subscribers should be familiar with Master Toddy and his largely successfully Fight Girls reality series, which featured Gina Carano,” said Chad Midgley, VP of Programming & Production at Fight Network. “Tuff Girls is a compelling look into the tough training it takes to succeed in the sport of Muay Thai and we’re confident our viewers will enjoy the fantastic battles, complimented by Master Toddy’s unique training methods.”
