LAW Dec. 12 Update - Randy Orton Injured

John Pollock / December 12, 2012 - 4:55pm

**Today’s edition of Review-A-Wai is up on the site with Wai Ting and I reviewing the WWE ’13 video game available through THQ. We also welcome Senior Designer Bryan Williams from THQ to chat about the making of the game, who the WWE informed them would be getting a major push ahead of time, future downloadable content on its way and lots of information on the game including the idea behind Attitude Era mode. The show is available for download at http://fightnetwork.com/news/35238:review-a-wai-wwe-13-w-sr.-designer-bryan-williams/ and on iTunes by subscribing to Live Audio Wrestling.

**WWE Main Event starts at a special start time of 6:30pm EST due to a big Hurricane Sandy Relief concert that will be airing on Ion Television.

**Randy Orton suffered a wrist injury during the Tribute to the Troops tapings this past weekend in Norfolk, Virginia and did an injury angle at the Smackdown tapings on Tuesday night to explain the injury. At this point he is not scheduled for the TLC show on Sunday night.

**JBL announced that his next scheduled mountain climb on January 11th has been postponed to February 24th after pulling a muscle in his shin and overtraining for the climb. JBL noted that with the new climb date he will not miss any pay-per-views (he was originally to miss the Royal Rumble in January) and will be back with a few weeks to go heading into WrestleMania 29.

**Next week’s edition of WWE Main Event will be headlined by Kane Vs Cody Rhodes.

**Jimmy Korderas and I preview this weekend's WWE TLC event from Brooklyn:

LAW MMA UPDATE

**UFC featherweight Mark Hominick announced his retirement on Tuesday evening and released the following statement:

Over the last 11 years I have had the opportunity to follow my passion. As I move forward to the next chapter of my careeer I am reminded how fortunate I have been. To my family, friends, fans and supporters; you have always been a huge part of the journey and I truly appreciated all you have done for me. With a young family at home and another daughter on the way, I know the commitment I need to make, just as I have in my athletic career.

I will always be involved in the sport and will be always indebted to the UFC, a professional sports organization second to none.

Thank you all for the support all over the course of my career, it has truly meant the world to me.

Hominick retires with a professional record of 20-12 in a career that culminated in a featherweight title shot against Jose Aldo at UFC 129 on April 30th 2011 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. The lasting image of a hematoma forming on his forehead is the image most associated with that event and even in defeat was able to win the final two-rounds of the fight on many people’s score cards. Hominick followed that loss to Aldo with a quick loss to Chan Sung-Jung at UFC 140 in Toronto last December and then decision losses to Eddie Yagin at UFC 145 and Pablo Garza last month at UFC 154 in Montreal. Hominick was a pioneer within Canadian Mixed Martial Arts fighting for the UCC  and later TKO promotions before making his UFC debut in March 2006 at UFC 58 where he surprised many by submitting Yves Edwards as Hominick competed at lightweight.

**Rory MacDonald was a guest on MMAJunkie Radio and stated that he has been given his requested rematch with Carlos Condit for March of next year when the UFC returns to Montreal and UFC President Dana White confirmed the news to MMAJunkie.com. MacDonald made the formal challenge in his post fight interview with Joe Rogan this past Saturday after earning a decision victory over BJ Penn to avenge a June 2010 loss to Condit at UFC 115 in MacDonald’s UFC debut.

**Muhammad “King Mo” Lawal will make his Bellator debut on January 24th against Przemyslaw Mysiala in the opening round of the Season 8 light heavyweight tournament from Thackerville, Oklahoma. Mysiala is a Polish fighter based in London, England with a 16-7 record and has won six of his last eight fights.

**The UFC begins their busy weekend with the FX card on Friday night from Queensland, Australia headlined by lightweights George Sotiropoulos and Ross Pearson squaring off along with a middleweight bout between Rousimar Palhares and Hector Lombard as well as the welterweight and lightweight finals of The Smashes season. The undercard will be airing on FUEL TV and Sportsnet One in Canada at 6pm EST and then the main card airs at 9pm EST.

**Bellator wraps up Season 7 and the MTV2 era for the promotion on Friday night in Hammond, Indiana with the weigh-ins taking place tomorrow. Here is the main card lineup for the show:
*Richard Hale Vs Alexander Volkov in the Finals of the Heavyweight tournament
*Dave Jansen Vs Marcin Held in the Finals of the Lightweight tournament
*Felice Herrig Vs Patricia Vidonic

**The Countdown to UFC 155 special will debut on December 25th at 11pm EST on FUEL TV.
