The LAW's WWE TLC Preview
The LAW / December 16, 2012 - 12:59pm
Tonight is the final WWE pay-per-view of the year as they present TLC from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The LAW has a preview of the entire card and then will recap the show tonight at Midnight EST on TSN 1050 Toronto, The TEAM 1410 in Vancouver and live on the website here.
RYBACK & DANIEL BRYAN & KANE VS THE SHIELD IN A TLC MATCH
Dan “The Mouth” Lovranski
Obviously, if this angle is to have any weight and these guys in the Shield are to be taken seriously, then they have to go over strong in this match. I don't see Ryback taking the pin, but I could see Kane or Bryan taking it and the Shield goes over strong. You could even have Ryback chase them off after the match, but the Shield has to win.
Jason Agnew
The Shield has to go over here so they don't look weak, but they cannot pin Ryback... looks like Daniel Bryan is taking the pinfall once again... and I'd suspect they do the triple powerbomb spot to Kane cause it will look impressive.
John Pollock
This is probably one of the more interesting pay-per-view main events the WWE has presented in a long time. Ryback has certainly been the breakout performer of the year and displayed an ability to draw with CM Punk at the Hell in a Cell show and I can certainly see the mentality that he needs a strong and dominant win to close out the pay-per-view and be that final visual as they go off the air. The Shield has been protected better than the majority of talent brought up in a long time and they certainly have the option to pin or submit Daniel Bryan or Kane if they want to go that direction and not hurt Ryback. I just feel that based on past history and the likelihood of this going on last it means Ryback is pinning someone and I’ll say Seth Rollins is the one thrown to the wolves. In a nutshell as much as we lament wins and losses, I don’t feel there will be a profound impact one way or another no matter who takes the fall or gets their hand raised in this one.
BIG SHOW VS SHEAMUS IN A CHAIRS MATCH FOR THE WORLD TITLE
Dan “The Mouth” Lovranski
The biggest complaint of the WWE right now is that they are just treading water and holding their own until the Royal Rumble and Rock comes back. Well, I think a great way to freshen things up is have Sheamus win the title back here, but be severely beat down by Show. This allows Ziggler to come out and cash in his Money in the Bank contract after successfully retaining it by beating Cena earlier in the night. We get a new champion, Dolph gets the push he deserves, and things get freshened up a bit.
Jason Agnew
Sheamus wins, Big Show gives him the KO punch after the match and Ziggler cashes in... I mean it's gotta happen sooner or later, right?
John Pollock
I don’t sense a title change and have enjoyed Big Show a lot this year since he turned heel and has cut out the comedy of his character. I feel with the chairs gimmick that the crowd should get behind this and we get a litany of chair shots from both men to sell the match. Big Show should keep the title and I like the idea of Big Show and Ryback eventually meeting at WrestleMania.
JOHN CENA VS DOLPH ZIGGLER IN A LADDER MATCH FOR THE MITB BRIEFCASE
Dan “The Mouth” Lovranski
As I mentioned in my Show vs Sheamus prediction, Ziggler wins here and then cashes in the Money in the Bank case on Sheamus after he beats Big Show later in the night. Besides, there is no reason to have Cena win this match at all.
Jason Agnew
Ziggler... if this goes the other way... it's a big mistake.
John Pollock
This has the potential to be a hell of a match and a big momentum shifter for Dolph Ziggler. If the idea of putting the briefcase on Cena so he can set up The Rock match for WrestleMania than I would much rather have Cena win the Royal Rumble and announce it the next night when The Rock in at Raw. Ziggler has been beaten like a drum the past year and done so clean to Cena twice in the buildup to this match and I think he finally wins this one.
KOFI KINGSTON VS WADE BARRETT FOR THE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE
Dan “The Mouth” Lovranski
Here are two guys that are both kind of stuck in the mid-card. The push seems to be on for Barrett, however, and it looks like he wins the title here.
Jason Agnew
I really want to see Wade win this, but with Antonio as the heel champ for the USTitle, I dont see it.
John Pollock
Wade Barrett wins the title and we all try and forget that he lost clean in two-minutes to R-Truth on television this week. Kingston is in a static position regardless of whether has a title or not, I don’t see him having that main event potential whereas Barrett does.
ANTONIO CESARO VS R-TRUTH FOR THE U.S. TITLE
Dan “The Mouth” Lovranski
I would definitely not take the title of Cesaro here as his modern day version of Nicolai Volkoff is great and he needs to continue to be booked strong. Besides, no one buys Truth as a title contender. Now let's just have more vignettes of Cesaro mocking great American monuments and we'll be all set.
Jason Agnew
Antonio should not lose, actually he should beat Truth, then beat Kofi and unify the titles... that may actually make them meaningful again if there's only one, and then he could do the Chris Jericho gimmick where he talks about being the first "undisputed" USIC Title holder.
John Pollock
Cesaro has become a great mid-card act since the summer and he is slowly getting over with his various feats of strength in matches and has a lot of upside as a top heel down the road. Cesaro should win this one easily and he is a character to watch in 2013 as he’s been protected and won over a lot of people.
TEAM RHODES SCHOLARS VS SIN CARA & REY MYSTERIO
Dan “The Mouth” Lovranski
This is one of those "take your pick" kind of deals. I personally think Rhodes Scholars should win here and eventually win the titles, but I could also see them going with Rey and Sin Cara getting the shot and winning the tag belts because Rey is getting to that point where he needs to work tags instead of singles due to his injuries, and it would give a bit of a push to Sin Cara.
Jason Agnew
Rhodes Scholars all the way here... I love these guys!
John Pollock
Damien Sandow is another character that has caught on and I feel the crowd (New York market) will be heavily pro-Sandow tonight. This is a fairly easy one to call with Rhodes Scholars getting the win and feuding with Daniel Bryan and Kane where I feel a title change is needed.
DIVA’S SANTA’S HELPER BATTLE ROYAL
Dan “The Mouth” Lovranski
Someone with fake teeth, fake hair and fake boobs will win and then fight Eve on the PPV in a bonus match.
Jason Agnew
Teenage boys everywhere win here and they get the simulated Xmas pornography... I'm gonna bet this is the highest rated YouTube pre-show ever.
John Pollock
Let’s say Layla.
