Fight Network is presenting a live broadcast of GLORY 4 Tokyo from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. Follow the live blog below:
-Tournament Final: Semmy Schilt vs. Daniel Ghita
Round 1:
Bell sounds and the first round is underway. Schilt moving forward on his smaller foe, trying to establish the range. Ghita explodes quickly and nails Schilt with a good right hand. Schilt backs Ghita to the ropes and then unloads on him with jab straights. Ghita lands a counter left hook but Schilt makes him pay with a kick to the body. Out of nowhere Schilt demolishes Ghita with a crushing head kick that folds the Romanian native and ends his night.
Winner: Semmy Schilt via KO (Head Kick), Round 1
-Semi Final #2: Jamal Ben Saddik vs. Daniel Ghita
Round 1:
Ghita walks in, blasts Saddik with a kick to the body and the fight is over just like that. Ghita wins by KO seconds into the match.
Winner: Daniel Ghita via KO (Body Kick), Round 1
-Semi Final #1: Semmy Schilt vs. Gokhan Saki
Round 1:
Schilt wastes no time getting his jab into the face of Saki and making him work. Saki tries to get inside and land his left hook but it’s coming nowhere near the target. Saki still trying to figure out the distance of Schilt but he’s losing points with each passing moment. Schilt working low kicks, one of which sails a little too low and temporarily halts the action. Fight resumes briefly before the bell sounds for the end of the first.

Round 2:
Saki comes out wild, winging hooks over the top. Saki is hoping one of these shots can land and hurt Schilt, but he’s missing by a long shot. Schilt doing a good job of backing Saki to the ropes before unloading on him with punches and kicks. Saki switches stances but it changes nothing as Schilt continues to pour on the pressure. Schilt corners Saki and bombs him with knees until the final bell.

-Quarter Finals: Mourad Bouzidi vs. Daniel Ghita
Round 1:
Bouzidi using the kicks to establish his distance. Ghita looking tentative as he moves in on Bouzidi. Hard body kick lands for Ghita followed by a kick in return by Bouzidi. Ghita on the aggressive now and lands a crushing body hook as the first round ends.
10-9 Ghita
Round 2:
Wild exchange to by both men to kick off the second frame. Ghita looking for the straight while Bouzidi tries and rip him with heavy hooks. Ghita throws a huge kick that Bouzidi blocks but in the process injures his arm, forcing the referee to call an end to the fight.
Winner: Daniel Ghita via TKO (Injury), Round 2
-Quarter Finals: Remy Bonjasky vs. Jamal Ben Saddik
Round 1:
Bonjasky trying to establish his range with his kicks to start the round. Saddik rushes forward and tags Bonjasky with a hard right hand that causes Bonjasky to go down. Referee rules it a slip and the fight continues. Bonjasky tentative with his strikes against the much larger Saddik. Bonjasky throws the low kick takes a hard body shot in return.

Round 2:
Saddik catches a Bonjasky kick and throws him to the ground. Bonjasky trying to throw more offense but he gets countered almost every time. Bonjasky throws a hard kick but once again it’s caught and met with a hard right hand that sends Bonjasky back down on a slip. Close fight, but the pure size of Saddik makes it impossible for Bonjasky to ever get going.

Winner: Jamal Ben Saddik via Decision (2-0)
-Quarter Finals: Gokhan Saki vs. Anderson Silva
Round 1:
Saki using his speed to land combinations on the larger Silva. Hard low kick nails Silva, who’s having trouble adjusting to the quickness of his opponent. Saki relentless with his kicks as he dances around the ring. Huge left hook rocks Silva but he manages to survive. Saki waiting patiently and then walks in and lands another crushing left hook to the head of Silva who falls to the canvas. Referee gives him a count before promptly calling an end to the fight.
Winner: Gokhan Saki via TKO (Two Knockdowns), Round 1
-Quarter Finals: Semmy Schilt vs. Rico Verhoeven
Round 1:
Verhoeven wants no part of Schilt’s reach and immediately gets in close. Overhand right opens up a cut over the left eye of Schilt. Verhoeven very aggressive in his attack and forces the doctor to take look at the cut on Schilt. Doctor allows it to continue and both men take the center of the ring. Big knee lands for Schilt and sends Verhoeven down but its ruled a slip.

Round 2:
Schilt being the aggressor to start the second round moving forward behind his jab. Leg kick lands hard for Schilt followed by a stiff jab that rocks Verhoeven’s head back. Schilt really getting comfortable as he mixes up his kicks and knees to the body.

-Round of 16: Daniel Ghita vs. Jhonata Diniz
Round 1:
Diniz looking to take the fight to Ghita early. Ghita landing hard with the straight right but nothing hurting Diniz yet. Left hook, low kick combo working nice for Ghita who steals the round late with him superior combinations.

Round 2:
Diniz charges Ghita to start the second and lands with some good power punches. Ghita comfortable in the ring but is being out struck by his faster opponent. Diniz again rushing Ghita and getting through the guard with some legitimate shots. Ghita starting to land a bit more as the second round closes out.

Round 3:
It’s anybody’s fight to win at this point and both men sense it. Diniz using the same tactic that won him the last round by charging forward and pushing Ghita. Diniz slowing down from the pure volume of strikes he’s thrown and Ghita can sense it. Hard body kick puts Diniz down but it’s ruled a slip. Back up, Diniz wants to sling shots but is too tired to keep up his relentless pace and is forced to absorb Ghita strikes until the final bell.

Winner: Danie Ghita wins via Decision (2-1)
-Round of 16: Peter Aerts vs. Mourad Bouzidi
Aerts with a pair of high kicks to kick off the round. Bouzidi trying to match the intensity with his punches. Aerts dazes Bouzidi momentarily but its short lived. Bouzidi connects with a hard body shot and then follows it up heavy follow up shots until the bell sounds. Aerts wins the round but breaks his hand in the process and is forced to retire between rounds.
Winner: Mourad Bouzidi via TKO (Injury), Round 1
-Round of 16: Errol Zimmerman vs. Jamal Ben Saddik
Round 1:
Saddick is a massive fighter and he uses his size early to corner Zimmerman. Nice low kick connects for Saddick and Zimmerman replies. Zimmerman getting wild with his shots but can’t find the chin of Saddick. Zimmerman rushes in to close the distance but eats a hard right hand flush on the jaw and goes down. Zimmerman gets back up and the first round ends.

Round 2:
Zimmerman comes out wild with an overhand right but it completely misses. Saddick senses that Zimmerman’s still hurt and starts to apply the pressure. Hard punches hitting Zimmerman but he takes them all. Zimmerman wobbly but surviving. Saddick lands a hard shot and down goes Zimmerman again. Zimmerman back up but he’s wobbly. Saddick runs in to finish Zimmerman but he gets caught with a wicked right hand followed by a left hook that floors him. Saddick looks like he’s all done, but he manages to get back up and survives the round.

-Round of 16: Remy Bonjasky vs. Filip Verlinden
Round 1:
Both men touch gloves and the first round is underway. Bonjasky with hard leg kicks trying to take away some of the mobility of Verlinden. Bonjasky trying to walk down Verlinden but he stands strong and makes Bonjasky pay. Verlinden doing a good job getting off first on his combinations. Overhand right scores for Bonjasky as the first round ends.

Round 2:
Bonjasky comes out aggressive for the second round, throwing heavy low kicks. Nice knee from Verlinden gets Bonjasky’s attention but doesn’t slow him down. Bonjasky senses he’s down on the scorecards and decides to pick up his offensive output. Knees and kicks scoring for Bonjasky as another close round comes to an end.

Round 3:
Verlinden looking to bring the fight to Bonjasky but can’t corner him for long. Bonjasky throwing knee’s and kicks that are starting to take their effect on the speed of Verlinden. Both men know they need to win this round and they let it all hang as the final round ends.

-Round of 16: Anderson Silva vs. Igor Jurkovic
Round 1:
Low kicks connect early for Silva who’s mixing up the leg kicks nicely. Jurkovic trying to get to the inside but eats a hard left hand that drops him. Jurkovic quick to get up and the fight continues. Silva keeps scoring with the leg kicks as Jurkovic stalks. Big right high kick lands for Silva and down goes Jurkovic for the second time in the round, forcing the referee to stop the fight.
Winner: Anderson “Braddock” Silva via TKO (Two Knockdowns), Round 1
-Round of 16: Gokhan Saki vs. Raoumaru
Round 1:
Saki takes the center of the ring early and immediately lands flush with a series of punches and kicks that obliterate Raoumaru. To the credit of the Japanese fighter, he manages to get up the first time, but finds himself facedown for the second time moments later. With GLORY’s two knockdown rule, this fight is over.
Winner: Gokhan Saki via TKO (Two Knockdowns), Round 1
-Round of 16: Sergei Kharitonov vs. Rico Verhoeven
Round 1:
Kharitonov stalking Verhoeven but eating heavy kicks for his trouble. Wicked uppercut scores for Verhoeven but Kharitonov replies with a nice one two combo of his own. Verhoeven lands the leg kick and circles out forcing Kharitonov to chase him. Kharitonov right hand lands and Verhoeven goes down but it’s ruled a slip.
10-9 Verhoeven
Round 2:
Kharitonov the aggressor again to start the round, trying to walk down Verhoeven. Kharitonov starting to land with his punches a little better but still not getting the best the exchanges. Nice body kick scores for Verhoeven followed by a series of punches. Kharitonov almost seems frozen in the center of the ring as Verhoeven tees off on him. Kharitonov tries desperately to counter and land one big shot but he just can’t find his target.

Winner: Rico Verhoeven via Decision (2-0)
-Round of 16: Semmy Schilt vs. Brice Guidon
Round 1:
Schilt ultra aggressive early, moving forward with heavy punches. Guidon trying to avoid the strikes but the range of Schilt gets him every time. Head kick is blocked by Guidon but he eats a multitude of punches regardless. Schilt all over Guidon who just barely manages to survive.
10-9 Schilt
Round 2:
Schilt wastes no time getting back to work with his punches and kicks. Big high kick blocked by Guidon but a follow up knee to the head has him in all types of trouble. Hard stiff jab from Schilt floors Guidon. Guidon showing a ton of heart by getting back up but it makes no difference as another Schilt punch sends him crashing down for good moments later.
Winner: Semmy Schilt via KO (Punch), Round 2
