TNA Genesis Report

Welcome to The LAW’s coverage of TNA Genesis from the Impact Zone in Orlando, Florida.
The commentary team is our usual of Todd Keneley, Taz and Mike Tenay.
Hernandez & Chavo Guerrero Vs Matt Morgan & Joey Ryan for the Tag Titles
Morgan and Ryan get the heat on Guerrero and crowd was constantly chanting for Chavo before making the tag to Hernandez.
Ryan slaps Hernandez from the apron and Taz thinks that makes Ryan the legal man but in fact Hernandez and Ryan…are not partners.
They beat down on Hernandez and keep him in their corner. Guerrero gets a hot tag and hits a somersault onto the back of Ryan and crowd is behind him. Guerrero then hits the three amigos and goes for the frog splash but Morgan stand in front to block Ryan. Guerrero with a missile dropkick to Morgan but he stays standing and they take Morgan down with a double dropkick.
Hernandez lifts Ryan and he falls out of his tights and takes an awkward powerbomb and a frog splash and Guerrero pins him at 11:30.
Jeremy Borash is in the back with Mr. Anderson and asks about his allegiance with Aces and 8’s. He says the same thing that was going to happen to Kurt Angle will happen to Samoa Joe tonight.
Samoa Joe Vs Mr. Anderson
Joe attacks Anderson and stomps him in the corner. They fight on the floor with Anderson sending him into the steps and sending Joe into the apron with his lower back being attacked.
Back in the ring Anderson attacks the left knee and Joe fights back and hits a tope suicida and landing on the knee as Tenay notes Joe being influenced by Kenta Kobashi and Mitsuharu Misawa.
Anderson runs into a STO and then Joe goes for the muscle buster but Mike Knox appears in the audience with a hammer and Joe stops what he is doing and is distracted as Anderson gets up and hits the Mic Check for the win at 10:44.
Borash is with Kenny King and cuts a good promo on Christian York and Rob Van Dam and that Van Dam has gone soft and not the same guy that fought Sabu and Jerry Lynn. He will step on York’s head and then it’s out with the old and in with the new and calls himself the new emperor of the X-Division.
Christian York Vs Kenny King
They go for quick falls right away as they explain the title match will immediately follow this match.
York is sent to the floor and King misses a corkscrew plancha but lands on his feet as York hits a hand spring into a head scissors on the floor to King.
York makes a comeback and hits a jumping knee. They fight on the outside apron with York hitting a cartwheel kick and then climbs to the top and hits a double stomp to the back of King in the ring for a two-count.
York goes for a crossbody off the top that King reverses and gets on top but uses the ropes for leverage and is caught by the referee.
They trade near falls and King goes for the La Magistral cradle but York blocks and pins him at 10:11.
After the match King hits York with the Royal Flush.
Rob Van Dam comes out and tries to help him up but York punches him and the match begins.
Rob Van Dam Vs Christian York for the X-Division Title
Van Dam hit the rolling thunder and got a two before York fought back.
York came off the ropes with a knee to the face of Van Dam. Van Dam went for a standing moonsault and York used a school boy for a two-count. Van Dam missed a frog splash and York with a la magistral cradle for a two.
York was kicked off the top rope where he was crotched and Van Dam nearly slipped on the top rope and hit the frog splash and pinned York at 5:31.
Van Dam helped York up to his feet after the match.
Borash in the back with Joseph Park, who was reading well wishes on Twitter for his first official match. He says this reminds him of his first case and his closing argument. He says he doesn’t want to “kay fab” Borash and calls himself a “green hornet” in this business. He stands her not an attorney but a trained pro wrestler.
Devon Vs Joseph Park
The crowd is all chanting for Park and starts super slow with the two just working a collar and elbow tie-up.
Devon gets on all fours and Park gets the better of him as Devon retreats to the floor and the crowd cheers.
Park attacks him by shoving him to the ground, discovers the turnbuckles and hits a splash off the second.
Park gets hit in the nose and is bleeding and fires up and hits the black hole slam and calls for the choke slam but stops and looks confused as Devon sends him into the corner and rolls up Park for the win at 11:16.
Borash is with Austin Aries saying Park was unsuccessful in his first match and Hardy will be unsuccessful in his last match as he and Roode have agreed to destroy Hardy and get rid of him and then they will fight it out.
The Knockouts Gauntlet match is next
Gail Kim Vs Miss Tessmacher
Kim hits Eat Defeat in 2:42 after Tessmacher controlled most of the match.
Gail Kim Vs ODB
They fight on the ramp and ODB sends her into the ring. ODB splashes her in the corner and hits the bronco buster. Kim pulls ODB off the corner and rolls her up with the tights for the win in about 2:10.
Gail Kim Vs Mickie James
This was the best one so far. James hit a hurricanrana off the apron to the floor. Kim reversed an O’Connor roll and hooked the tights again and pinned James at 2:47. They played up Taryn missing James being under the bottom rope.
Gail Kim Vs Velvet Sky
Sky is sent into the steps but makes it into the ring. Kim tries for the roll up again but Taryn catches her this time. Kim yells at Taryn and turns around and gets him by Sky’s finish and Taryn counts three even thought Kim got her foot under the rope.
Borash is in the back and Daniels and Kazarian join him as they explain the winner of the next match gets a TNA Title shot on the January 24th edition of Impact. Another excellent promo from Daniels where he did an impression of Storm and Kazarian has a manager’s license for tonight.
Christopher Daniels Vs James Storm
Kazarian grabs Storm’s trunks from the floor and causes Daniels to attack Storm and Kazarian beats him down on the floor.
Daniels works on the left arm of Storm and constantly goes back to the arm.
Storm chases off Kazarian and hits an elbow drop off the top rope.
Daniels ducks the Last Call super kick and hit the Angel’s wings for a two-count. Daniels goes for the BME and Storm gets his boot up and hits the closing time double knees. Storm goes for the super kick and hits Kazarian on he apron but Daniels sneak attacks Storm and gets the pin at 13:24 while putting his feet on the ropes.
They replay the angle from Thursday with Bully Ray proposing to Brooke Hogan.
Bully and Brooke come out and Bully says how hot Brooke looks. Bully wants to invite The Rolling Stones and Lady Gaga and they are inviting all the people. He shoots a Twitter video (not Tout) inviting everyone to their wedding and Taz points out he didn’t hit record.
Sting Vs Doc
Sting attacks him on the floor and they head into the crowd where other members of Aces and Eights attack Sting before the match starts. They make their way to the ring and the bell rings.
Doc with the advantage until he runs into the corner and misses with a knee as Sting attacks him, splash in the corner and Scorpion death drop for the win at 5:51.
After the match Aces and Eights surround the ring but Bully Ray runs down and chases them off.
Borash is in the back and brings in Bobby Roode and he brings up being he longest reigning TNA champion in history and will regain the title tonight.
Jeff Hardy Vs Austin Aries Vs Bobby Roode in an Elimination Match for the TNA Title
Roode is selling on the floor while Aries has the advantage on Hardy.
Roode enters the ring and Hardy uses Aries for the poetry in motion onto Roode and goes for a swanton to both but is crotched on the top. Roode and Aries then double team Hardy.
Roode puts Aries on his shoulders and walks into the corner where Hardy is to suplex him but Hardy blocks and hits the whisper in the wind to Aries on the shoulders of Roode.
On the floor Roode holds up Hardy for a suicide dive by Aries but Hardy moves and Aries takes out Roode. Hardy then hits the poetry in motion onto Aries against the barricade.
Back in the ring Hardy suplexes Aries onto Roode but Roode recovers and jumps off Aries’ back to spear Hardy for a two-count. Roode holds the legs of Hardy as Aries hits a running dropkick in the corner and brainbuster but only gets a two-count.
Roode tells Aries to give Hardy a 450 splash but Roode moves Hardy out of the way and hits the fisherman suplex on Aries but only gets a two and then they fight.
Aries and Roode continue fighting and Aries uses a backslide as Hardy comes in and pins down the legs of Roode for the pin and Roode is eliminated.
Aries and Hardy fight at the ropes and Hardy hits the twist of fate through the ropes and hits the swanton for the win at 20:23 to keep the title.
