LAW Jan. 16 Update - Dixie Carter Chats TNA in 2013

John Pollock / January 16, 2013 - 5:04pm

**Today’s edition of Review-A-Wai is up on the website with Wai Ting and myself reviewing the WWF Royal Rumble from 1991 featuring the Rumble, Ultimate Warrior Vs Sgt. Slaughter for the WWF Title and an undercard match between The Rockers Vs The Orient Express among the highlights of the show. You can download the show at http://fightnetwork.com/news/35802:review-a-wai-wwf-royal-rumble-1991/ and subscribe to Live Audio Wrestling on iTunes.

**A reminder that details to join our Review-A-Wai Royal Rumble is up at http://lawradio.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=feedback&action=display&thread=2359 and it is free to join.

**Here is part two of Dixie Carter’s chat with Jeremy Borash that ran on Challenge TV in the U.K. discussing what 2013 holds for the TNA organization and specifically chatting the TNA Knockout’s division and keeping it wholesome, criticisms and praise she receives online and more:

**El Generico is back on the Hart Legacy Wrestling event this Friday night in Calgary, Alberta at the Victoria Pavilion, which has a ton of names attached to it. The show has also added the recently released Trent Barreta to the card.

**Raw finished with a 3.2 rating on Monday and averaged 4,550,000 viewers on Monday night for the 20th anniversary show in Houston.

**The group Living Color is playing a concert the night before WrestleMania 29 in the New York area and one could reasonably assume they may be playing Punk to the ring the next night at MetLife Stadium.

**Ring of Honor has a pair of shows this weekend with a show in Dearborn, Michigan Friday night featuring The Briscoe Brothers Vs Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards for the Tag Titles and Kevin Steen Vs Tadarius Thomas for the ROH Title. The crew then heads to Milwaukee for a show on Saturday night featuring a four-way for the ROH Title with Kevin Steen Vs Michael Elgin Vs Roderick Strong Vs Eddie Edwards.

**The Smackdown crew has a two-show mini tour in Alaska starting tomorrow night in Anchorage and then another show in the state on Friday night. The Raw crew begins their weekend tour at the Staples Center on Friday night in Los Angeles with Rey Mysterio advertised to return on that show.

**The WWE has announced that Ric Flair will be signing at the Fax Axxess event on Thursday April 4th and will likely be involved a lot of that weekend with a variety of appearances. They have also announced Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels for individual signing sessions as well.

**The WWE and the UFC went head to head on this date in 2006 with the UFC presenting their third Ultimate Fight Night card on Spike TV from Las Vegas. Their card was headlined by a heavyweight bout where Tim Sylvia defeated Assuerio Silva by unanimous in a fight most well remembered for a story where Sylvia stated he soiled himself during the fight. The WWE countered that night on Raw with a TLC Match between Edge and Ric Flair for the WWE Title in one of Flair’s last great matches of his career.

**The Hollywood Reporter has a story on the USA Network developing a late night talk show but is in the earliest pre-production stages with no target date but have indicated it would be a nightly show at 12:01am EST.

**Ric Flair teaches Ricardo Rodriguez the art of the “woo”.

**ESPN was the first to report that a welterweight bout between Dan Hardy and Matt Brown has been added to the UFC on FOX 7 card April 20th in San Jose, California. On Tuesday the UFC officially announced the top two fights for the card with Benson Henderson defending the Lightweight Title against Gilbert Melendez and a heavyweight bout between Daniel Cormier and Frank Mir.
