LAW Jan. 28 Update - Chris Jericho, Brock Lesnar News

John Pollock / January 28, 2013 - 7:19pm

**To catch last night’s edition of The LAW with Dan Lovranski, Jason Agnew and myself recapping the Royal Rumble and taking tons of your calls it is posted at http://fightnetwork.com/news/36054:jan.-28-edition-of-the-law-wwe-royal-rumble-2013/ and also available on iTunes. I want to thank all the calls from last night including those that attended the show live (including some live calls from Phoenix that we didn’t have time to get to and others calling from overseas), we appreciate all the feedback and was a packed edition of the show that also included Dave Meltzer joining us from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

**Tonight Raw is live from Las Vegas, Nevada with the Raw Roulette theme for the show. I would expect a bit of a bump in audience tonight coming off of the Royal Rumble and general interest at a high right now for the kick off of WrestleMania season and curiosity of the directions they are going in. With only three-weeks between pay-per-view shows I would expect the top matches to be made this week for Elimination Chamber and will tie up where you position The Rock and John Cena on the bridge event between Rumble and WrestleMania. If the idea we discussed last night of a Rock Vs CM Punk rematch is the plan they go with for February than it holds off another WrestleMania teases for Punk until after that show and you also have the back drop of Las Vegas tonight (the site of Punk’s big promo in June 2011) to shoot something big.  Tonight’s show will also feature a job evaluation of Paul Heyman conducted by Vince McMahon.

**Tonight on Review-A-Raw Wai Ting and I will have a full recap of tonight’s edition of Raw and taking your feedback after the show on The LAW Message Board. On the program tonight we will also announce the winner of our Review-A-Wai Royal Rumble Pool and lots more so check out the show late tonight and it will be posted around 2am EST and also available on iTunes.

**Bryan Alvarez of F4Wonline.com reports that the WWE and Brock Lesnar have verbally agreed to a new two-year contract but the deal has not been signed as of yet. The plan is still to go ahead with Triple H Vs Brock Lesnar for WrestleMania 29.

**The LAW round table returns this Sunday (we will be on at 11pm EST after the Super Bowl) and we will announce the names for the round table tonight on Review-A-Raw.

**It appears Chris Jericho will be back at least for a short term run through WrestleMania and got an incredible response last night and was probably the best performer in the entire Rumble. Fozzy does have a mini tour at the end of February in Australia (featuring Damien Abraham’s group Fucked Up playing with Fozzy) but it is only a six-date tour and he would have to miss two editions of Raw and doesn’t conflict with Elimination Chamber. It’s only interesting to note that the Raw crew has two international shows in the country of Qatar on February 21st and 22nd and the Fozzy tour kicks off February 23rd in Australia.

**Last night WWE.com also released a new Chris Jericho t-shirt and they also shot a video backstage involving Jericho and Dolph Ziggler playing off their program from last summer and pretty much confirmed Jericho is sticking around.

**The WWE Smackdown and Main Event tapings will be in San Diego tomorrow night.

**Legit or troll video? Either way it’s entertaining:

**Ring of Honor has announced that Rocky Romero & Alex Kozlov of New Japan Pro Wrestling will be working against Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards on the 11th anniversary show on March 2nd from Chicago Ridge, Illinois. That show will be headlined by Kevin Steen Vs Jay Lethal for the ROH Title.

**With the win last night John Cena ties Hulk Hogan (1990, 1991) and Shawn Michaels (1995, 1996) with two Royal Rumble wins for second place of all-time underneath three wins by Steve Austin (1997, 1998, 2001).

**I will be a guest on MMA Meltdown with Gabe Morency this Wednesday night at Midnight EST on Fight Network along with Mark Bocek.

**Fight Network will be carrying the UFC 156 weigh-ins live this Friday night at 7pm EST from Las Vegas, Nevada.

**VH-1 calls Hulk Hogan “creepy” after tweeting out a picture of Brooke’s legs, hard to argue with that statement.
