BAMMA 12 sees UK #8 Light Heavyweight, Kevin Thompson drop to Middleweight on the back of his BAMMA 11 loss to Max 'Power' Nunes. The Cumbrian fighter presents a professional Mixed Martial Arts record of 13-6-0 of which all his victories have been delivered in less than 2 minutes and 27 seconds, via TKO or Submission. A meeting with Rab Truesdale in June 2012 resulted in his latest win, whilst recent losses have been at the hands of stiff competition, including Linton 'The Swarm' Vassell and Ricco Rodriguez.
Doncaster's Scott Askham holds an 8-0-0 record, with all documented wins secured between a rocket 4 seconds and 2:48; up to his latest bout which transpired in a Unanimous Decision win over Denniston Sutherland, in his first top ranking challenge. Ranked at #13 in the UK, Askham holds the UCFC Middleweight belt and fights out of Matrix, with the majority of his conquests via TKO.
Scott Askham said:
"Fight camp is going well and it's great to be in our new gym, Ludus Magnus. This is Kevin's first fight at Middleweight so it's going to be an interesting fight. I'm really looking forward to fight night and really happy that BAMMA has given me this opportunity. BAMMA is a great show and I can't wait to be a part of it."

About Safe MMA
SAFE MMA is a not for profit organisation established to improve the safety of MMA fighters in the UK. Under the Safe MMA banner, the medical centre provides a secure, centralised and confidential database for fighter medical records; and coordinates affordable, standardised blood and medical tests for all registered fighters. Additionally, SAFE MMA members will have access to advice from leading world experts in sports medicine.
UK promotions Cage Warriors, BAMMA and UCMMA united to help found the project and have agreed that from 1st January 1013 all fighters on their cards must be registered to SAFE MMA and undergo annual medical tests and bi-annual blood tests. The promotions have agreed only to use fighters that are deemed medically safe to fight under the SAFE MMA (green light) system and not to use fighters that are suspended due to injuries, such as concussion, or who are overdue for blood tests, for example. Additionally, the promotions have pledged to have medical professionals carry out pre- and post-fight tests with all results to be submitted to the confidential medical database at 76 Harley St. Medical data will never be transmitted to anyone but SAFE MMA will be able to give a rapid and all-hours service to inform authorised promotions of who is medically safe to fight and who needs to be rechecked, at the time of enquiry.
