LAW Feb. 9 Update - DirecTV Sends Out Survey for WWE Network

John Pollock / February 9, 2013 - 12:36pm

**A new survey put out by DirectTV indicates that the major U.S. major carrier is interested in carrying the WWE Network and asking various price points consumers would be willing to pay. The survey options range from $12.99 up to $29.99 per month with the caveat that the WWE would be placing eleven of their twelve pay-per-view events on the network excluding WrestleMania. This obviously is a viable option for the network but will massively erode their pay-per-view business and quicken that process if more carriers pick up the network. We will be chatting about this with Dave Meltzer more in-depth on Sunday night on The LAW.

**New Japan Pro Wrestling presents their New Beginning iPPV late tonight at 1am EST from Hiroshima at the Sun Plaza Arena and is available at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/njpw1972 for $25 with the following card:

**The Raw crew is in Springfield, Missouri tonight for a live event and then head to Cape Girardeau, Missouri tomorrow. His current contract was set to expire at the end of this month. The WWE also added him to their alumni section this week at http://www.wwe.com/superstars/jeffhardy

**Pro Wrestling Syndicate is holding an event tonight in Metuchen, New Jersey at The Sports Plex headlined by Jerry Lynn vs. Lance Storm but that match is in jeopardy as Lance Storm has been grounded in Toronto for the past 24-hours due to the massive snowstorm.

**TNA Impact did a 1.0 rating and averaged 1,410,000 viewers for the taped show in Manchester, England.

**The following matches will be on Impact next week, taped a few weeks back in London, England:
*Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle
*Bobby Roode vs. Austin Aries (yes, one week after winning the tag titles)
*Rob Van Dam vs. James Storm
*Christopher Daniels vs. Magnus

**Hulk Hogan speaks to Patrick Lennon of the U.K. Star discussing TNA moving down to four pay-per-view events and questions if the wrestling business is Dixie Carter’s passion or just a hobby and needing to take the company to the next level if they want to compete or simply be a smaller organization.

**Late night tweets from Kevin Nash:

Taz has an iron clad contract, that allows him to interact in felony acts and keep his job.Why don't they raise 4 fingers on each hand?Ouch!

That's all I wanted to comment about, story line is getting weak buy adding sub mid card players, history always repeats its'self

I love watching pro wrestling, not trying to shit on the product.Just feel the show should revolve around Angle.who would kill the crew
