My 'Mania

With WrestleMania 29 looming in the distance, I thought it would be a fun idea to write about some of the matches I'd want to see if I was booking this year's event spectacular. But first, let's discuss the matches that WWE seems to be building towards:
Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar 2
After Brock Lesnar returned two weeks ago and delivered a devastating F5 to Vince McMahon, it's no doubt that this is setting up Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H 2, a rematch from this past year's SummerSlam. Disappointing, I know. Their first bout didn't "wow" me, and I don't see why the rematch has to take place on a bigger show than their original contest. Oh well.
The Rock vs. John Cena 2 - WWE Championship
Another obvious one is Rock-Cena 2 for the WWE Championship. The Rock won the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble and John Cena won the actual Royal Rumble match. This too is a rematch, but from last year's WrestleMania. As you guys know from my previous articles, I'm not a fan of either of them. Don't get me wrong, their last meeting was an entertaining bout that was given an impressive amount of time, but I have a strong feeling that their second won't be as strong. First of all, this match is all too generic for my liking. I could see it coming a mile away when the Rock was scheduled to face CM Punk for the WWE title at the Rumble and when Cena cut that awful promo on the final Raw before the pay per view. Also, I'm really sick and tired of all these back to back WrestleMania rematches we've been getting. Undertaker and Michaels, Undertaker and Triple H, and now what looks to be Cena and the Rock. Not that those matches weren't good, it just seems like an easy way out for creative.
CM Punk vs. the Undertaker
It's been rumored that CM Punk is scheduled to face the Undertaker at WrestleMania 29, but that's only if the Undertaker decides to return. Seems like he's cutting it kind of close, don't you think? This is the only rumored match-up that I'd be really excited for. Both the Undertaker and CM Punk are outstanding workers and they've proven to have great chemistry with each other in the past.
Given the circumstances of what talent is available for this year's WrestleMania, here are the main event matches that I'd like to see, instead:
The Rock vs. John Cena vs. CM Punk - Triple Threat - WWE Championship
The Rock vs. John Cena was supposed to be "once in a lifetime". They even made a whole DVD about their feud, of the same name. Another 1 on 1 meeting between these two doesn't make sense. But a triple threat match with CM Punk as the third competitor does. Throughout 2012, all three of these men were involved in each other's business. They were 3 of the most popular superstars of 2012, and early 2013. Having it all culminate in a three way dance for the WWE Championship is an easy, yet exciting way to end their feuds with each other. I know that we've seen John Cena and CM Punk in the same triple threat match for the WWE Championship on two separate occasions in 2012. But I still believe that this would be one hell of a match. No rematches, no second chances. Three men walk in - only one walks out with the WWE Championship. There's your promo, WWE.
The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar
If the Undertaker is going to wrestle at this year's show, I'd put him in a match against Brock Lesnar. There's not many guys left for the Undertaker to face at WrestleMania, let alone anyone that actually poses a threat to his undefeated streak. We all know that the streak will never end but in order to create some sort of suspense around his match, the Undertaker has to be put up against an unstoppable force. Brock Lesnar beat Triple H, the man who took the Undertaker to his limits at last year's WrestleMania. It only makes sense to work his way up the ladder and try to defeat the Undertaker's infamous streak. These two had a great feud in 2002, and another one in 2004. I have no doubt that they could steal the show at WrestleMania 29.
Triple H?
I'm not sure where this leaves Triple H but not having him on the card isn't a huge loss for me. If anything, he should be used to push an up and coming talent's popularity. For example, Dolph Ziggler or Ryback. A win over Triple H for these two on the grandest stage of them all would do a whole lot for their potential push's in 2013. I also realize that I'm sacrificing a whole main event match to make these changes but just like the old saying goes, it should be about quality, not quantity.
How would you guys book this year's WrestleMania? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for reading.
