LAW March 9 Update - Monday Night Fall Out

**I am completely burned out after last night and it's going to take a while to get used to four hours every Monday night and cannot even fathom April 26th when ‘Raw' will be three hours.

**I'll start with TNA ‘Impact' and here is a look at the positives and negatives of the show:
*As with all of these style of shows from Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo, it was very newsworthy, lots of angles were shot and there was the element of surprise and intrigue throughout the show, which made it a easier show to watch throughout the two hours but the follow up has always been the issue and shooting so many angles that your head is spinning is not always the smartest strategy in retention of audience, whose expectations you have set extremely high for the next week
*Rob Van Dam's debut generated the biggest reaction of the night, he went over Sting in a manner where you though he was an instant top guy in the company but the post match beat down and Hulk Hogan run in to the ring ended the segment with Van Dam as an after thought in his own debut and he was middle of the pack after his first night
*Beer Money Inc. are suddenly heels with their reasoning that they weren't getting noticed on the roster, what is the highest reward they can achieve as a tag team? The titles? The same titles they were scheduled to challenge for on the next PPV?
*Why is Abyss, who was in the Eight Card Stud Tournament and lost, getting the next TNA Title shot?
*The X Division Match with Doug Williams, Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian was very good but Shannon Moore walking into the title spot on the PPV didn't do anything for me
*Mick Foley has an ability to make just about anything he's booked in work or at least add a comedic element to it, but is this seriously all they have for Foley?

**Thoughts on ‘Raw'
*Great opening segment with Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker and without question the best built match on ‘Mania and a strong argument each week that they should close the show
*I don't know what was going on in the Diva's match but there was some terrible spots in that ‘match'
*I have no idea what a tag team gauntlet match is, even after watching one - very confusing a rare departure from their ‘keep it simple stupid' philosophy of the past two months
*I don't need to see another magic trick - ever
*Overall a very by the numbers edition of the show and ranged from average to weak after the opening segment in my opinion and does show borderline cockiness or just an extreme confidence in their product over TNA, which to their credit is the reality at this time

**The ‘Smackdown' and ‘NXT' TV tapings take place tonight in Seattle, Washington but no matches have been announced as of yet for the show.

**TNA is in Orlando, Florida to tape ‘Impact' for next week, they do have momentum coming off of last night's show and it will be interesting to see how much of their audience is retained next week because they will have the negatives of going against a big edition of ‘Raw' and being taped, which I do feel will hurt as they didn't promote anything for next week, which was probably a mistake considering it looks as though Jeff Hardy will be wrestling his first match next week on the show.

**Chris Jericho posted the following comment on his Twitter account:

The beat down of RVD 20 seconds into his debut in TNA was mind boggling. I dont understand how so many talented people can be so clueless.

**Ric Flair has finally been taken out of the opening of WWE programming and has been replaced by the Ultimate Warrior of all people.

**Next week's edition of ‘Raw' takes place in San Diego, California with guest host Steve Austin and the following has been announced for the show:
*Chris Jericho Vs Shawn Michaels
*Triple H Vs Randy Orton
*John Cena Vs Big Show
*Contract signing with Bret Hart and Vince McMahon with Steve Austin involved

**The following matches were taped for ‘Superstars' last night prior to ‘Raw':
*Zack Ryder Vs Santino Marella
*MVP & Christian Vs Chavo Guerrero & Carlito

**Following ‘Raw' last night there was a dark match with John Cena & Triple H defeating Batista & Sheamus.

**Here is the updated lineup for TNA ‘Destination X' on March 21st in Orlando, Florida:
*A.J Styles Vs Abyss for the TNA Title
*Doug Williams Vs Shannon Moore for the X Division Title
*Matt Morgan & Hernandez Vs Beer Money Inc. for the TNA Tag Titles
*Motor City Machine Guns Vs Generation Me in an ‘Ultimate X Match' for a shot at the TNA Tag Titles
*Kurt Angle Vs Ken Anderson
*Kevin Nash & Eric Young Vs Scott Hall & Sean Waltman

**Here is the updated lineup for ‘WrestleMania 26' on March 28th in Phoenix:
*Chris Jericho Vs Edge for the World Title
*Batista Vs John Cena for the WWE Title
*Shawn Michaels Vs The Undertaker - Streak Vs Career
*Vince McMahon Vs Bret Hart
*Triple H Vs Sheamus
*Christian Vs Shelton Benjamin Vs Dolph Ziggler Vs Kane Vs Matt Hardy Vs Jack Swagger Vs MVP Vs Evan Bourne in the ‘Money in the Bank Ladder Match'
*Big Show & The Miz Vs John Morrison & R-Truth for the Tag Titles

**Al Snow was backstage in Orlando last night and is apparently getting a tryout as a road agent for TNA.

**David Hasselhoff is scheduled to host ‘Raw' on April 12th in London, England, which could be tremendous or a bigger train wreck than his 1994 pay per view concert.

**The WWE will be running a ‘Raw' and ‘Smackdown' combined house show on June 19th at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

**This is an awesome video that one of our listeners Andrew McMahon posted on The LAW Facebook group.
