**This Sunday night on The LAW it is Dan ‘The Mouth’ Lovranski and myself running down all the events from the past week and chatting about the return of CM Punk and how this shapes ‘SummerSlam’. We will also be airing a portion of my chat with John Morrison from this past week discussing his neck injury, his return on Monday, how healthy he is right now and a lot more. Plus we will chat with Dave Meltzer of the ‘Wrestling Observer Newsletter’, we will be playing TWO editions of Title Bout Trivia for your chance to go to WWE ‘SummerSlam’ in Los Angeles (listen on Sunday night for your chance to win but note it doesn’t include air fare or hotel). Tune in on Sunday night at 11pm EST on The Score on Sirius 158 or listen here on the website.
**Following The LAW Wai Ting and myself will have a new edition of Review a Wai posted with a rundown of the July 1997 ‘In Your House – Canadian Stampede’ show, which is regarded as one of the best WWF shows of all-time.

**In what could turn out to be a major story for the wrestling industry Spike TV is planning to re-brand the network and cater to both males and females in the 18-49 age demographic rather than skew male. Spike TV’s contract with the UFC expires at the end of the year and with the loss of UFC programming it is forcing Spike TV to evaluate their position to advertisers. I would assume that ‘Impact Wrestling’ is generally safe because they go good numbers by Spike standards and is above the prime time average for the network, however as is the key with wrestling programming it typically doesn’t command the advertising revenue that another show with the same audience would generate and always leaves wrestling programming vulnerable when there is a directional change within a network.
**Here are the matches scheduled for TNA ‘Impact Wrestling’ tonight at 9pm EST, taped last week in Orlando, Florida:
*Rob Van Dam Vs Gunner in a Bound for Glory Series match
*Crimson Vs Bully Ray in a Bound for Glory Series match

*Brian Kendrick Vs Abyss in an Ultimate X Match for the X Division Title

**WWE ‘Raw’ did a 3.2 rating on Monday night.

Ouellet is seeking a permanent restraining order and returns to court on August 3rd.

**CM Punk was a recent guest on ‘The BS Report’ with Bill Simmons of ESPN discussing the past month’s angle. Punk stated in the interview that he was dead set on leaving the company and only changed his mind at the ‘Money in the Bank’ pay-per-view. He said he is not a great company representative like The Miz because he is much more honest and feels The Miz comes across very rehearsed and represents the corporate image the company takes. Punk also noted the promo in Las Vegas was designed ahead of time and discussed but did throw in a few of his own comments such as the shout out to Colt Cabana, which were designed to make the most jaded fan question it but at the same time the comments didn’t hurt business in anyway.
**Punk is working the WWE ‘Raw’ house shows this weekend.
**Mick Foley was backstage at the ‘Smackdown’ television tapings on Tuesday night in Philadelphia and has been reportedly offered a deal by the company. Foley has stated on Twitter that he is considering the offer.

**UFC President Dana White turns 42-years old today.
**Devon Nicholson has filed a $6.5 million dollar lawsuit against Larry Shreve a.k.a Abdullah the Butcher stemming from a 2007 independent match where Butcher bladed during the match and supposedly used the same blade to open up Nicholson. In 2009 Nicholson discovered he has contracted Hepatitis C and it cost him a contract with the WWE and believes it was from the Abdullah match. The lawsuit was filed in the province of Ontario.
**Former WWE creative writer David Lagana has been writing a tremendous series of blogs on his website describing the rise of CM Punk in 2007 on the ECW brand with a ton of behind the scenes notes. You can read the blogs at http://iwantwrestling.com/2011/07/27/straight-edge-or-bust/.
