**Tonight is the WWE ‘Over the Limit’ pay-per-view event from Raleigh, North Carolina and http://fightnetwork.com/wp-content/uploads/audio/765.mp3.
**Ring of Honor has announced that they will be airing the full Davey Richards Vs Kevin Steen match from ‘Border Wars’ on next weekend’s television show and I highly recommend checking out that match. I’m also a fan of the HBO model they have adopted where you get to see the big matches for free on a week or two delay and is certainly worth an experiment and is unlikely to hurt your live iPPV business.
**Following the television tapings this past weekend Kevin Steen Vs Davey Richards in a rematch for the ROH Title will headline the June 24th ‘Best in the World’ iPPV from Manhattan, New York with the stipulation that Richards only gets one rematch for the title.
**The ‘Raw’ tapings are in Richmond, Virginia tomorrow night and then ‘Smackdown’ tapings take place Tuesday night in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. The Tuesday night tapings have been adjusted with ‘NXT’ now taping every three-weeks at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida with a push for a college campus audience attending the shows and will feature more WWE talent on the show with Jim Ross and William Regal calling the shows.
**We have a cool chat up on the site with independent wrestler Sebastian Suave discussing life as an independent wrestler and trying to catch his big break, you can check it out at http://fightnetwork.com/wp-content/uploads/audio/1127.mp3.
**As many of you know I am a massive fan of the show ‘Dallas’ and the show is returning next month on TNT featuring original cast members Larry Hagman (J.R. Ewing), Patrick Duffy (Bobby Ewing) and Linda Gray (Sue Ellen Ewing). The show is planning to do a ‘what have they been up to since…’ companion for those that have not watched the show since it went off the air in 1991. One of the plans is that J.R. lost his fortune after investing a lot of money into the XFL (so he must have been a private investor helping out the WWE and NBC). TNT has been making a big viral push for the show and focusing on the Facebook timeline feature to update on the whereabouts of various characters with J.R’s character running the page and has the following listed on the timeline:
May 2001: The XFL and all its entities are no more. Official announcement coming tomorrow. The TV deal was ultimately the silver bullet, but the mood in the Owners Meeting was hardly optimistic about our long term goals. [Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones] owes me a drink or three.
**TNA has recently signed Austin Aries and Gunner to new contracts.
**Thursday night’s edition of ‘Impact Wrestling’ did a 1.08 rating and averaged 1,480,000 viewers.
**Ashley Fliehr (the daughter of Ric Flair) has signed a developmental deal with the WWE and will be reporting to Florida Championship Wrestling. This has led to speculation regarding Ric as he missed all of the house shows and pay-per-view last weekend along with the two television tapings this past week as well.

LAW MMA UPDATE
**UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones was arrested early Saturday morning at approximately 5am EST in Binghamton, New York on suspicion of DUI after crashing his Bentley into a pole. Malki Kawa, who represents Jones with First Round Management issued the following statement:
I can confirm that Jon Jones was arrested early this morning on suspicion of DUI,” stated manager Malki Kawa. “While the facts of this situation are still being gathered and situated, First Round Management fully supports Jon, and we are asking for fans and media to respect the privacy of Jon and his family during this time.
**Here are the results from the Strikeforce card held on Saturday night at the H.P. Pavilion in San Jose, California:
*Bobby Green over James Terry by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
*Quinn Mulhern over Yuri Villefort by split decision (30-27, 28-29, 29-28)
*Gian Villante over Derrick Mehmen by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)
*Guto Inocente over Virgil Zwicker by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)
*Isaac Vallie-Flagg over J.Z. Cavalcante by split decision (20-28, 28-29, 29-28)
*Chris Spang over Nah-Shon Burrell by TKO at 1:55 of Round 1
*Rafael ‘Feijao’ Cavalcante over Mike Kyle by guillotine choke at 0:33 of Round 1
*Gilbert Melendez over Josh Thomson by split decision (48-47, 47-48, 48-48) to keep the Strikeforce Lightweight Title
*Daniel Cormier over Josh Barnett by unanimous decision (50-45, 50-45, 49-46) to win the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix
The Lightweight Title fight was extremely close and I had Thomson slightly ahead winning 48-47 after five rounds but am fine with the decision. The 1st and 3rd rounds were very close and I leaned towards Melendez in the 1st and Thomson in the third and then gave Thomson Rounds 4 and 5. This was a big fight for Thomson because many were questioning how much he had left with a litany of injuries over the past few years and he looked tremendous in this fight with one of the top lightweights in the world. For Melendez there are few challenges within Strikeforce for him with Pat Healy looking to get the next title shot that has little marquee interest right now. Scott Coker shot down the idea of a fourth fight between Melendez and Thomson, who have gone 15-rounds together over the course of three fights.
**Daniel Cormier and Josh Barnett both broke their hands in the opening round and that’s incredible considering the pace they maintained for 25-minutes. For Cormier this is the third time he has broken his hand since September (broke it during the Antonio Silva and then in training this past December, which delayed the Barnett fight from the original target of March). Cormier will now have to fight one more time in Strikeforce and then will likely make the transition into the UFC. Cormier has been asked of the possibility of Cain Velasquez (his training partner at AKA) regaining the Heavyweight Title and what would happen in that scenario and Cormier has hinted that they would fight but is also open to moving down to 205 for the first time in his career because of less weight he is carrying right now.
**On Friday night’s edition of TUF Live it was confirmed that Renan Barao will fight Urijah Faber for the Interim Bantamweight Title on July 7th at UFC 148. Barao was originally scheduled to fight Ivan Menjivar on that card.
**Al Iaquinta and Vinc Pichel advanced to the final four of the current season of TUF on Friday night with Iaquinta stopping Andy Ogle and Pichel winning a decision over Chris Saunders. Iaquinta and Pichel will fight next Friday for a spot in the finals and means that one of them will have fought three-weeks in a row, which is pretty crazy. James Vick and Michael Chiesa will fight in the other semi-final next Friday. The finale show takes place June 1st in Las Vegas, Nevada.
**Here are the main card results from the Bellator 69 event held on Friday night in Lake Charles, Louisiana:
*Mark Holata over Abe Wagner by Achilles lock at 2:24 of Round 1
*Jessica Aguilar over Megumi Fujii by unanimous decision (29-28 all)
*Karl Amoussou over David Rickels by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) in the semi-finals of the Welterweight tournament
*Maiquel Falcao over Andreas Spang by unanimous decision (29-27 all) to win the Middleweight Tournament
Falcao was deducted a point in the opening round for a knee to a downed Spang but completely bullied Spang for the next two-rounds and was never close outside of a flurry by Spang in the opening round. Falcao will fight Alexander Shlemenko later this year for the vacant Middleweight Title that Hector Lombard vacated.
