Fight Bites for Oct. 22 – ‘Never Say Die’ Story of the Day

The Double Knockout

Knockout #1 (above) comes by way of “Ninja Princess” Jordan Nicole Gaza. The 19-year-old BJJ blue belt fights out of Weapons At Hand MMA in Corpus Christi, Texas. This past June she dropped a split decision in her pro debut after going 4-3 on the amateur circuit. Courtesy of

Knockout #2 comes via karate instructor Matt Brown, who shows us that you don’t necessarily have to pack a wallop to put down somebody bigger than you.

Never Say Die Story of The Day

For Bryant Jennings, an undefeated heavyweight boxer out of Philadelphia, having the odds stacked against him has never stopped him from dreaming. Jennings picked up boxing in his mid-20’s, and works as a mechanic to support both his family and his world title aspirations. Kind of makes me feel guilty for not pursuing my childhood dream of being an astronaut/fireman/ninja.

Training Like You Mean It

Muay Thai fighters are known for their incredible aggression and tenacity in the ring. It’s not by accident. This video gives us a peek at just how intense a Muay Thai training session can get.

Combat-Trained Wildlife Of The Day

I challenge you to find someone whose heart isn’t warmed at least a couple of degrees by videos of animals imitating human activities. In this clip, we meet a bear in a zoo that has some incredible handles with a bamboo stick. We haven’t seen an animal handle a bow staff like this since Donatello helped discover the secret of the ooze.

Inspirational Quote Of The Day

Today’s quote comes courtesy of former world champion boxer Evander “Real Deal” Holyfield, who shares a few words on the subject of perseverance.

“A champion shows who he is by what he does when he’s tested. When a person gets up and says ‘I can still do it’, he’s a champion.”

Whether or not Evander “can still do it” is a completely different discussion.

Backyard Wrestling Fail Of The Day

Your parents warned you that backyard wrestling was a bad idea. In fact, I’m warning you it’s a bad idea, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t laugh sadistically at the mistakes of others. Jeff Hardy would be appalled by this lackluster Swanton Bomb.

Steven Seagal Is Completely Insane Story Of The Day

Anyone who has followed legendary action movie star Steven Seagal over the years knows that the guy might not be all there. Then again, he might just be all of the crazy things he professes to be. This incredibly detailed article digs into everything that makes Seagal the delightfully conceited provocateur that he is. This one is worth the read just for the “How Steven Seagal Makes A Movie” flow chart. Silly as it may be, it’s probably not that far off from the truth.
