The Double Knockout
Knockout #1 (above) comes by way of Chinese-Canadian model/dancer Jile Cai. The 25-year-old beauty has graced the pages of Muscle Mag and Inside Fitness, as well as the cover of American Curves and Importfest magazines. She became a fan of MMA after working as a ring girl for The Score Fighting Series, saying of the experience “I was on the edge of my seat, just trying not to blink.” We’re trying not to blink either, Jile.
Knockout #2 comes via this insane spinning back elbow knockout in a muay thai kickboxing match. Jon Jones, eat your heart out.
Never Say Die Story of the Day
Raul Ibanez is a master judoka who is battle-hardened, but it’s not just the judo mats that have molded him into the man he is today. Ibanez spent eight months as a political prisoner in his native Chile during the dictatorship of General Augusto Pinochet. During that time, Ibanez witnessed many of his fellow prisoners get tortured or killed. Once released, Ibanez made his way to Canada, where he made a new home in Saskatchewan, and later became a four-time world masters champion.
Anderson Silva’s True Hollywood Stories
I defy you to find anyone between the ages of 15 and 40 that hasn’t seen Charlie Murphy and Dave Chappelle’s legendary Rick James comedy sketch. What is lost on most people, however, are the similarities between Murphy’s “True Hollywood Stories” and Anderson’s true MMA stories. Thanks to Jerry Power (@jpower38 on Twitter) for the submission. (this one features some offensive language, viewer discretion is advised)
Steven Seagal is Completely Insane Video Of The Day
Ever seen Kill Bill? Remember the five-point-palm-exploding-heart technique? Well it’s not so far from the truth; there is a Chinese technique known as Dim Mak, often referred to as “the touch of death.” It’s not commonly practiced anymore but leave it to Steven Seagal to do it on-camera on a Russian talk show. (according to the video description the guy was okay, so please don’t file any lawsuits).
Kid That Could Kick Your Ass Of The Day
Today’s terrifying youngster comes from Phuket, Thailand where he’s been honing his kicking skills presumably since he was inside the womb. Forget ankle-biting, this kid looks like he could destroy the knee of a grown-up if he were given the chance.
One-Armed Championship Win Of The Day
Okay reader, I’ve got a challenge for you: watch this video and try not to be inspired. Nick Newell is not your average MMA fighter. He was born with a congenital amputation that left him with one arm that has grown only just past his elbow. Despite what is viewed by many as a disability, Newell has gone 9-0 in MMA, and as you’ll see below, recently captured the XFC lightweight champion.
Grotesque Fighter Injury Of The Day
**THIS STORY IS NOT FOR THE SQUEAMISH; YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED**
There are all kinds of strange injuries in the world of MMA, but perhaps none stranger than the unfortunate injury of Ultimate Fighter alumni Ray Elbe. The strangest thing is that he was trying to be a lover, not a fighter; Elbe severely injured his junk whilst making love (no details here, I’ll just leave it at that). Click this link if you dare, but be warned: the photos resemble a crime scene out of Dexter or something. Thanks to Matt Lee (@ThisIsMattLee on Twitter) for the submission.
