John Rees: Stock Broker By Day, Cage Fighter By Night

Fight Network Staff / February 18, 2013 - 7:04pm

On Saturday 2nd March White Collar MMA 8 Live at London’s Troxy, just 5 minutes away from Canary Wharf the heart of the London City trade where the London Stock market will be going mad next at the start of March as Broker, John Rees aged 32 will step into the White Collar MMA Cage and throw down the leather with 18 year old Kick Boxer Pritpal Soor.

John Rees last outing at WCMMA 2 back in November 2011 was an excellent example of a battle as it was back and forth with Rees losing the 1st round, the city boys in attendance was in doubt for their man but coming out in the 2nd round with a huge left hook knockout, John Rees was at the top of the London town talk, with his wife in tears begging him never to do it again but the Stock Broker has other ideas.

John Rees said ‘There is no better feeling than to let all the steam go after a long day in the office in a controlled environment THE CAGE. No office normally allows people to come to work with black eyes but thankfully my bosses and team are 100% behind me and support me’

After the last fight that proved to be a war, Promoter Dave O’Donnell has decided to up the ante by putting the WCMMA Welterweight UK1 Title on the line, let’s hope this fight lives up to the hype that the Mixed Martial Arts and Kick Boxing forums have been on about.

When Rees heard the news about fighting for a title he said ‘I am just an ordinary guy with an ordinary Job, I’m not a fighter, I just enjoy getting in and having a go and proving that we City boys have the minerals to go at it just like the pro’s do.’

Promoter Dave O’Donnell had this to said ‘John has been a regular to ALL UCMMA and White Collar events for years, always sitting Cage Side entertaining his clients. I have top respect for a man who holds down such a high powered job but still manages to step in to the Cage and give it a go. On the white collar events, there are no losers, just 2 guys going toe 2 toe and unfortunately one has to come out 2nd best. The WCMMA crowed are always on top form cheering on every fighter that steps into the cage.’
