**Tonight TNA is taping their final two editions of Impact before Bound for Glory in Tulsa, Oklahoma. TNA only has three dates scheduled for this month with tonight’s show, Bound for Glory on October 20th and the television tapings on October 24th in Salt Lake City, Utah. They have announced a mock Hall of Fame ceremony for Bobby Roode tonight but no matches have been announced.
**The WWE released a statement today regarding Michael Hayes (Michael Seitz) and stating he is taking a leave of absence due to personal reasons. They did not elaborate on the circumstances behind the leave nor any expected return date for Seitz. As reported by Court Bauer on Bauer & Pollock yesterday, Hayes was spotted having drinks with Rosa Mendes and it got back to the office and was sent home recently. One thing I want to make clear because a number of outlets are reporting that Hayes was offering alcohol to Mendes and we never stated that on the show but simply that they were spotted having drinks together.
**Review-An-Impact will be up late tonight as Wai Ting and I run through the show and welcome Nate Milton.
**The NXT tapings in Winter Park, Florida will feature Alberto Del Rio and Christian appearing.
**The vast majority of the WWE crew is over in Abu Dhabi for the first of three shows today all taking place in the same venue. The other crew has shows in Providence, Rhode Island on Saturday and Philadelphia on Sunday. The crew then heads down for a tour of Mexico starting next Wednesday.
**The following matches have been added to ROH’s Glory By Honor XII event on October 26th in Chicago Ridge, Illinois:
*Mark Briscoe vs. Silas Young
*Eddie Kingston & Homicide vs. ACH & Tadarius Thomas
**The 2010 Bound for Glory took place on this date featuring the formation of the Immortal faction and heel turn of Jeff Hardy. The main event featured Hardy defeating Kurt Angle and Mr. Anderson for the vacant TNA Title.
LAW MMA UPDATE
**Today’s edition of The MMA Report is up at http://fightnetwork.com/news/6390413:oct-10-edition-of-the-mma-report-w-john-pollock/ featuring a full recap of last night’s UFC Fight Night 29 card, John Ramdeen from Fight Network stops by to chat about the show, Rousimar Palhares and a look ahead to UFC 166. We also have a recap of last night’s edition of TUF, your Twitter questions and more. You can also subscribe to The MMA Report with John Pollock on iTunes or listen on the free Stitcher app.
**Here are the results from the UFC Fight Night 29 card held last night in Barueri, Brazil:
*Alan Patrick over Garett Whiteley by TKO at 3:54 of Round 1
*Chris Cariaso over Iliarde Santos by TKO at 4:31 of Round 2
*Yan Cabral over David Mitchell by unanimous decision (30-27 all)
*Igor Araujo over Ildemar Alcantara by unanimous decision (29-28 all)
*Raphael Assuncao over T.J. Dillashaw by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
*Rousimar Palhares over Mike Pierce by submission at 0:31 of Round 1
*Fabio Maldonado over Joey Beltran by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
*Thiago Silva over Matt Hamill by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-27)
*Dong Hyun Kim over Erick Silva by KO at 3:01 of Round 2
*Jake Shields over Demian Maia by split decision (48-47, 47-48, 48-47)
**The most controversial topic coming out of the show was Rousimar Palhares’ refusal to let go of the heel hook he applied on Mike Pierce after Pierce was furiously tapping and referee Keith Peterson jumped in to stop the fight. Palhares was denied the submission of the night bonus. Earlier today UFC president Dana White appeared on ESPN and announced the promotion has released Palhares and he will never fight for the company again. This isn’t a first time offence by Palhares, who committed the same crime at UFC 111 in March 2010 to Tomasz Drawl and was suspended by the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board.
**The following $50,000 bonuses were handed out after the show:
*Fight of the Night – Raphael Assuncao vs. T.J. Dillashaw
*Knockout of the Night – Dong Hyun Kim
*Submission of the Night – n/a
**The main card from 7-10:20pm ET on FS 1 averaged 638,000 viewers and then jumped to 725,000 for last night’s episode of TUF.
**Immediately following Impact tonight Spike TV will be airing a one-hour documentary at 11pm ET on Frank Shamrock entitled “Bound by Blood” featuring a face to face with Ken Shamrock and comments from numerous people in the industry discussing Frank’s career.
**Bellator 103 is in Mulvane, Kansas tomorrow night with the weigh-ins taking place today. The card features the semi-finals of the featherweight tournament with Justin Wilcox taking on Joe Taimanglo and Patricio Freire meeting Fabricio Guerreiro.
**Bellator bantamweight champion Eduardo Dantas is out due to an ankle injury until early 2014 company officials announced this week. Dantas will defend his title against Rafael Silva (who just won the delayed bantamweight tournament last Friday) and then will have a second challenger established when Joe Warren fights Travis Marx next month in the finals of the current 135-pound tournament.
**If you haven’t heard yet the Raquel Pennington vs. Jessamyn Duke fight is well worth going out of your way to see from last night’s edition of TUF and I would assume it’s a lock both (as well as most of the women this season) will get at least one fight with the UFC after this season. Josh Hill meets Michael Wooten next week.
