LAW Aug 27 Update - Luna Vachon Dead at 48

**Luna Vachon (Gertrude Vachon) was found dead earlier this morning at the age of 48. At the time of her passing Vachon had been living with her mother after her house was lost in a fire recently, where many of her possessions had been lost including her wrestling memorabilia. Vachon followed her father Paul 'The Butcher' Vachon into the industry along with her uncle Maurice 'Mad Dog' Vachon and aunt Vivian and got her start in the mid 80's as part of Florida Championship Wrestling and wrestled for numerous offices including All Japan Pro Wrestling for Shohei 'Giant' Baba and Stampede Wrestling in Calgary. Vachon got her biggest break in early 1993 when she debuted for the WWE at 'WrestleMania 9' in Las Vegas as the mysterious valet of Shawn Michaels, who was working against Tatanka on the show, who had Sensational Sherri in his corner and led to a big post match angle where Luna attacked Sherri. The feud with Sherri never materialized as Sherri left the company shortly afterwards and Luna was quickly paired with Bam Bam Bigelow as his 'main squeeze' for the majority of her WWE run, which ended in late 1994. She had brief stints with both ECW and WCW that were rather short runs and got her next major national exposure returning to the WWE in 1997 and paired with Goldust after Goldust had turned heel and in storyline was leaving wife Terri Runnels. This led to a program with Luna and Sable that featured both in a mixed tag match at 'WrestleMania 14' in March 1998 where Marc Mero and Sable defeated Goldust and Luna and the feud between the women continued including a singles match at the April 1998 'Unforgiven' pay per view where the two had an 'Evening Gown Match' that was pushed as a featured match on the show. Luna would later turn babyface and was paired with The Oddities group along with John Tenta and Giant Silva but was turned back heel to have someone to work with Sable and the two would be featured in a 'Leather Strap Match' at the 1999 'Royal Rumble' with Sable getting the win despite a pre match injury angle by Luna to weaken the back of Sable. Despite the two working so closely during the year plus period, they had a lot of issues backstage with Sable cited as displaying an attitude problem and the two even coming to blows in the locker room shortly after the Rumble match and led to Luna being suspended by the company and not returning until the summer. Luna would finish up in the company in early 2000 and never returned. She was married on three separate occasions with the most well known being to David 'Gangrel' Heath with the two being married for twelve years and divorcing in 2006. Vachon leaves behind two sons and the distinction of being one of the most unique female characters to come along during a time when a premium was placed on model looks and she was a strong heel character that displayed longevity in the industry.

**Anthony Osbourne who performed as 'Tough' Tony Borne died Friday morning at the age of 83 after being bad health for some time. Borne was a staple in the Pacific Northwest working for Don Owen in Oregon and formed a highly successful tag team with Lonnie Mayne. Osbourne's son Matt would follow him into the business gaining his highest fame as Doink the Clown in the early 90's for the World Wrestling Federation.

OK Here's the scoop. Anterior Cervical Disectomy & Fusion surgery set for mid October. I'd do it sooner but I have some things coming up that I can't put off. Dr. says I'm crazy for waiting that long but What can ya do? I'm just a bad ass. lol

**The first TLC Match in WWE history took place on this date in 2000 at 'SummerSlam' with Edge and Christian defeating The Hardy's and The Dudley Boyz in a match that solidified the tag teams as one of the cornerstone attractions for the company during the boom period.
