LAW Dec. 15 Update - TLC Match Changed for PPV

John Pollock / December 15, 2010 - 3:01pm

**The WWE has changed up the ‘Smackdown’ main event for this Sunday’s ‘TLC’ pay per view. At the TV tapings on Tuesday night in Lafayette, Louisiana it was announced that the TLC Match for the World Title will now be a four-way match with Kane defending the title against Edge, Rey Mysterio and Alberto Del Rio. Mysterio and Del Rio were originally scheduled to have a ‘Chairs Match’ on the show.

**The three-hour edition of ‘Raw’ Monday night did a 3.1 rating averaging 4,650,000 viewers over the three hours. The first hour did a 2.75 rating as it typically does. I understand it falls outside of prime time for the third hour to air from 11pm – Midnight EST but I really feel the number would benefit for the three-hour shows to air from 9pm – Midnight EST as that is the time fans are trained to tune in and there is a better chance of fans sticking around for the third hour than going out of their way to tune in an hour earlier.

**Ring of Honor posted on their website Wednesday that Kenny Omega has injured his ankle and cannot put any weight on the ankle and is off of the shows this weekend in Plymouth, Michigan and the ‘Final Battle 2010’ card on Saturday in Manhattan. Omega was scheduled to work against Eddie Edwards on Saturday on the internet only pay per view.

**Hulk Hogan officially got married on Tuesday to his girlfriend Jennifer McDaniel in Clearwater, Florida. TMZ reported that a fight broke out at the ceremony as a photographer was attempting to get photos from a distance and was seen by someone at the wedding and led to police being called. The photographer, Ron Howard (not Richie Cunningham) allegedly told the family friend that he was carrying a gun when approached at the wedding.

**Shawn Michaels posted the following note on Twitter following the ‘Tribute to the Troops’ taping this past Saturday in Fort Hood:

It was gr8 seeing the WWE gang @ Tribute show. Got some business done too. Seems there may be a future w/the WWE & yours truly:-)

**News came out Tuesday that a sex tape involving the 18-year old daughter of Dave Batista (Dave Bautista) has been released on the internet. The video features Athena Bautista with her boyfriend Justin Miller, both of whom are references in Batista’s 2009 WWE DVD ‘I Stand Alone’. There has been no reaction from Bautista, who is currently overseas filming ‘The Scorpion King 3’.

**Satoshi Kojima Vs Hiroshi Tanahashi for the IWGP Title will headline the New Japan Pro Wrestling Tokyo Dome show on January 4th.

**Taz reports that over 300 wrestlers have applied for spots at the ‘Team Taz Finishing School’, which opens in New York next month.

**Here is a profile piece we have put together on The Fight Network featuring Ring of Honor champion Roderick Strong with comments from Christopher Daniels, Cary Silken and Kenny King.

**Matt Hardy appeared on the ‘Monday Night Mayhem’ radio show this past Monday night and was apparently upset that no one reported it stating on his Twitter that:

BTW, The Scumsheets always cover MNM, the show I was on last night. They didn't today.. Why u ask? Cuz I call them out on their bullsh*t.. The reason why they don't give me publicity.. Cuz they don't want my voice 2 be heard-So RT this-"THE DIRTSHEETS FEAR MATT F'N HARDY!" :) RT

If you want to check out the interview it is available for download here and you can also catch their ‘Bring It’ segment during the final 15-minutes of the show which I was on as a guest for chatting about TNA, the WWE’s Top 50 DVD and the chances of Brock Lesnar working WrestleMania next year.

**Matt was not the only Hardy brother who was upset and took their anger to Twitter as Jeff posted the following messages regarding the rumors of his state at the December 5th ‘Final Resolution’ event in Orlando:

**The Miz will appear on ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’ tonight at 12:35am EST on NBC to promote the ‘Tribute to the Troops’ event this Saturday night on NBC.

**Jim Ross is in Florida today working with the students in Florida Championship Wrestling.

**I think the next time ROH asks The Briscoe Brothers to make a training video, they will likely send out their own crew to shoot it

**The UFC announced today at a press conference in Brazil that the promotion would return to the country on August 27th 2011 for a show in Rio de Janiero at Citibank Hall, which holds 8,500 people. The promotion’s lone show in Brazil took place on October 16th 1998 in Sao Paulo, which was headlined by Frank Shamrock retaining the Middleweight Title (now Light Heavyweight) over John Lober as well as a 44-second knockout by Vitor Belfort over Wanderlei Silva.

**UFC President Dana White announced at the press conference that they would have another surprise announcement before the end of the year. He also noted that the TUF Season 13 coaches have not been decided on as of yet but has ruled out Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva as potential coaches for the season. White stated he will know who the coaches will be on Friday, which has led to people believing it will be Urijah Faber and the winner of the Dominic Cruz Vs Scott Jorgensen fight at WEC 53 on Thursday night. Faber is currently nursing a knee injury and could be somewhat limited in his coaching role as they will begin filming in January.

**The weigh-ins for the final WEC event take place later today in Glendale, Arizona. WEC 53 will feature two title bouts with Benson Henderson defending the Lightweight Title against Anthony Pettis (the winner will fight the Frank Edgar / Gray Maynard winner next year for the UFC Lightweight Title) along with Dominic Cruz defending the Bantamweight Title against Scott Jorgensen plus Donald Cerrone meets Chris Horodecki in a lightweight bout. The show airs Thursday night on Versus in the United States and The Score in Canada.

**The UFC announced Tuesday that they would be returning to Newark, New Jersey on March 19th of next year at the Prudential Center for UFC 129 that will be headlined by Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua Vs Rashad Evans for the UFC Light Heavyweight Title along with a light heavyweight bout between Tito Ortiz and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. This event was originally scheduled for Abu Dhabi before the location was changed.

**Manny Pacquiao’s next fight has been moved from April 16th to May 6th, which could be the most purchased event of 2011 depending on the opponent and what the status of Floyd Mayweather Jr. is in the new-year.

**UFC 127 set for February 27th in Sydney, Australia sold out instantly today at the Acer Arena during the pre-sale so tickets didn’t even reach the general public. The card is headlined by a Welterweight bout with Jon Fitch taking on B.J Penn as well as Middleweights Michael Bisping and Jorge Rivera meeting in the co-feature. Australian George Sotiropoulos will also compete on the main card taking on Denis Siver in lightweight action.

**Bellator Fighting Championships announced on Tuesday that they have signed a three-year deal with MTV2 to begin airing Season 3 on the network with a regular Thursday at 8pm EST timeslot.

**Following a Tweet by Randy Couture on Monday night heavily hinting at retirement, Loretta Hunt of The Los Angeles Times spoke with Couture regarding his future in MMA. Couture tells Hunt that unless he can fight Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua or Lyoto Machida he is not interested in continuing his fighting career and will move on to other projects in his life.

**Josh Koscheck will be undergoing surgery on Thursday for his broken right orbital bone sustained in his fight with Georges St-Pierre this past weekend at UFC 124.

**Middleweight Joe Doerksen has been cut by the UFC following his split decision loss to Dan Miller over the weekend at UFC 124 in Montreal. Doerksen entered the Miller fight following a submission loss to C.B Dollaway at UFC 119 this past September.

**The Toronto Star has a story on UFC fighter Sean Pierson in today’s paper. Pierson recently became a police officer in Toronto but is facing an ultimatum from the force to choose between being an officer or a UFC fighter. The Toronto force must approve a secondary income that an officer seeks out and are not allowing fighting in the UFC to be covered within those guidelines. A similar situation happened to former UFC fighter Rob McDonald a few years back and ended up going to work for the Peel Region Police Force.

**We have now released all three of our interview pieces with reporter Ariel Helwani, here are all three parts to check out:
