Hard Times for Quinton

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has been going through some tough times lately.  Everyone knows that Quinton had a run in with the Costa Mesa Police Department after having several hit and run encounters on the 55 fwy in Orange County California.  Just recently Quinton was arraigned in court and had several felony charges levied against him.

1 felony count of evading while driving recklessly

1 felony count of evading a peace officer

3 misdemeanor counts of hit and run

1 misdemeanor for reckless driving

Do I think Quinton will do any jail time for the crimes that he has been charged with, no I do not.  It really has nothing to do with Quinton being a known personality, but more so to do with any previous record involving similar crimes and I do not know of anything that Quinton has done within the last several years that would show he has a tendency to not follow the law.  I think Quinton is going to make it through this situation by being placed on probation and having to perform community service activities.  That is good for both Quinton and the public.  Quinton does not belong in jail and the public needs to be around and see the person Quinton really is.  He can help kids by being a role model that owns up to the mistakes he has made and shows that although none of us are perfect and we all make mistakes, we can learn from our mistakes and attempt to never make the same errors again.  Quinton has a great personality and is a very genuine person that will be able to draw fans not only to himself, but also to the sport of MMA as a whole by being in contact with them during his community service.

What really scared me was the miscarriage that occurred approximately two weeks after the incident by one of the motorists Quinton hit.  I believed it would be hard for a prosecutor to implicate Quinton as the reason for the miscarriage beyond a shadow of a doubt, but that did not mean that they would not charge him with a crime that would of made it a much more difficult time for Quinton.  That does not clear Quinton of any responsibility, as he will absolutely be sued by this woman in civil court.  What happens there is anyone’s guess, but I would bet that Quinton will be paying a lot of that hard-earned cheddar into someone else’s bank account.  Overall the most important thing is for Quinton to get himself right get his head on straight and then get back to doing what he does best and that is entertaining the fans of the UFC.  Quinton is great for the sport of MMA and for the UFC.  He is a star and he will always be a fighter that people pay to see because he puts on a show win or lose.  Last but not least, Quinton, if the State of California takes your license from you just give me a call.  I would love to chauffeur you around in that beautiful Audi R8 you have………seriously just call for anything, you will always have a fan here.
