*MMA JUNKIE is reporting that former UFC fighter Jeremy
Jackson was arrested on June 30th in Oxnard, California and charged with seven felony
offenses,including two counts of forcible rape. His bail was set at one million
dollars.
*Last weekend’s UFC 86 event proved to be
another financial windfall for the Las
Vegas based MMA juggernaut. The Nevada State Athletic
Commission released its figures for the event with 9,630 tickets sold at the
Mandalay
Bay Events Center for a total of 3,350,730 Dollars.
It was the sixth largest MMA gate in Las Vegas history.
* TATAME is reporting that Mauricio “Shogun” Rua
expects to return to the octagon in December. He’s been on the sidelines
recovering from knee surgery. The former 2005 PRIDE Light
Heavyweight (Middleweight in Japan) Grand Prix champion was
submitted by current UFC Light Heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin at UFC 76
last September.

Fighter 7″ cast member Matt Brown has been offered a fight with undefeated Dong
Hyun Kim at UFC 88 which takes place September 6th at Phillips Arena
in Atlanta.
*The K-1 Asia Grand Prix takes place on Sunday in Taipei, Taiwan. Ruslan Karaev vs. Tatsufumi
Tomohira kicks off the eight man tournament while the likes of Ray Sefo and Remy
Bonjasky will be involved in superfight action.
* K-1 veterans Mark Hunt and Jerome LeBanner will
meet in an MMA bout at DREAM 5 July 21st in Osaka, Japan.
*FIGHTERS ONLY is reporting that Cage Rage World
Welterweight champion Paul Daley is not happy with the way he’s been treated by
the British promotion’s parent company Pro Elite. He claims that the
organization gave him permission to fight in his hometown of Nottingham, England on Saturday night against
Bojan Kosednar on a Cage Warriors event. The Fight Network contacted Pro Elite
executive Jeremy Lappen and he intimated that discussions were ongoing between
Pro Elite and Cage Warriors to try to resolve the issue.
