Update on Ken Shamrock Vs Kimbo Slice

Sources in Florida have alerted The Fight Network that Ken Shamrock will not be fighting tonight in Sunrise, Florida where the 44-year old was scheduled to fight Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson in the Heavyweight main event of tonight’s “Heat” event at the near sold out Bank Atlantic Center.

Shamrock was training last night (with training partner Dan Freeman according to Dave Meltzer) and was accidentally head butted and caused a cut about Ken’s eye. Shamrock was not medically cleared to fight by the Florida State Athletic Commission.

Elite XC was scrambling to find a replacement opponent with Frank Shamrock offering to take the fight as well as the company looking at Seth Petruzelli because of his name recognition from the “Ultimate Fighter 2″. Slice was originally adamant about only fighting Ken but officials are currently in “wait and see” mode and no official word has been made on the status of the main event tonight.

It is confirmed that Ken Shamrock will not fight tonight.
