LAW Feb 7 Update – Dutch Mantell on The LAW Tonight
**We have
a last minute change for tonight’s edition of The LAW. Due to the terrible
snowstorm this past weekend in the Northeast pocket of the U.S., our guest
for tonight Dave Lagana will be on a flight at that time and unable to join us
tonight but we are planning to reschedule Dave for another week to chat about
Ring of Honor and a ton of other topics. However, stepping up to the plate to
take his place tonight is legendary booker and performer Dutch Mantell, who
most recently served on the TNA creative team from 2006 – 2009 and has written
a brand new book entitled ‘The World According to Dutch’. Mantell is currently
booking in Puerto Rico and is going to chat
about all of the behind the scenes of TNA over the past few years and this
should be a fantastic chat with Mantell. In addition we will be taking your

the latest chapter in the Bret Hart angle, the programs leading into

Hart on his Facebook page discussing his post ‘Raw’ meeting with Jeremy Borash:
It was nice seeing Jeremy Borash, a longtime friend of
mine, from TNA while I was in Nashville.
He hung out with me and we never once talked wrestling. Some feeble minded
idiot who saw us in plain view tried to start the rumour that I might be heading
to TNA next; although why anyone would ever think I’d let Hogan and Bischoff
anywhere near my Hitman persona again is truly beyond me. Anyhow, as for the Super Bowl on
Sunday between the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints, I’ve decided
after great deliberation to pull for the Saints but I think Manning will pull
it out of the fire. Most importantly, I hope it’s close anyway.

Flair will make his first TNA house show appearance next Friday night at the
show in Norfolk, Virginia.

LAW MMA UPDATE
**Here
are the results from the UFC 109 ‘Relentless’ card last night in Las Vegas,
Nevada at the Mandalay Bay Events Center:
*Joey
Beltran over Rolles Gracie Jr. by TKO at 1:31 of Round 2
This was a terrible performance by
Gracie Jr. with zero stand up ability and was a one sided affair. The second
round was one of the worst outings you will ever see with Gracie Jr. beyond
gassed out and quit on the floor. Don’t hold your breath on Gracie Jr.
returning anytime soon.

Tuchscherer over Tim Hague by majority decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-28)
*Phil
Davis over Brian Stann by unanimous decision (30-26, 30-26, 30-27)
This fight did air and Davis looked tremendous -
he is one of the best wrestlers to ever enter the 205 pound weight division and
I’m very intrigued to see this guy’s next fight. Davis is a giant Paul Orndorff
fan, so the ‘Mr. Wonderful’ nickname wasn’t a coincidence.

This could be it for Trigg in the
UFC and perhaps his career. Trigg was visibly upset after the fight was stopped
by it was the right call by Josh Rosenthal as Trigg went limp.

Thiago over Mike Swick by submission at 1:54 of Round 2

Sonnen over Nate Marquardt by unanimous decision (30-27 all)
This sets up Sonnen as the #1
contender for the winner of the April 10th UFC 112 bout between Anderson Silva and Vitor
Belfort. Sonnen really established
himself as a tremendous talker this past week and is a fresh name to feature on
a countdown special and I suspect his next fight will do adequate business.
*Randy
Couture over Mark Coleman by submission at 1:09 of Round 2
**UFC President Dana White spoke to reporters after the event and stated that
he believed that was the final fight for Mark Coleman in the UFC. After the
main event while Joe Rogan was interviewing Coleman, Tito Ortiz yelled ‘Payback’s
a bitch motherfucker’ and Coleman immediately capitalized on the situation and
responded calling Ortiz a ‘douchebag’ and said he would fight him anytime.
Coleman and Ortiz were supposed to fight last November at UFC 106 but Coleman
was injured and had to pull out of the fight. It’s a fight the UFC could
promote and do decently with but would need to be propped up by a co-feature as
the recent number for UFC 106 proved that Ortiz is not the draw he once was and
a Ortiz Vs Forrest Griffin would theoretically do better than a Ortiz Vs
Coleman fight. The fact is the UFC is doing such a high volume of events that
when push comes to shove if there is a last minute injury and they need
someone, they may opt to use Coleman again as he is a sentimental favorite and
he’ll walk into Strikeforce if he’s dropped by the UFC.
