**Angelo
Poffo, the father of Randy Savage and Lanny Poffo passed away on Wednesday
night at the age of 84. Poffo worked for 35-years and then became a promoter of
the outlaw ICW promotion out of Lexington,
Kentucky featuring his sons as
the top stars. It was during this time that ICW ran head to head with Jerry
Jarrett’s promotion and was a heated war between the two groups. Poffo was involved
in an angle with WCW in 1995 where he was inducted into the WCW Hall of Fame at
the ‘Slamboree’ event that year and was then attacked by Ric Flair to set up a
match between Flair and Savage the following month on Father’s Day at the ‘Great
American Bash’.
**Hulk Hogan
has been doing media everywhere promoting the move to Monday nights for TNA and
was on the Jim Kerr Rock & Roll Morning Show today and announced that TNA
made a major signing on Wednesday night and then did the Rob Van Dam double
thumb pose to the camera in the studio.
**The
second next week of WWE ‘NXT’ did a 1.24 rating, down from the 1.4 rating the
show did in Week 1. This week had a lot less buzz heading into the show and I
don’t believe it was even plugged on ‘Raw’ Monday night compared to last week
where it got the major push on ‘Raw’.
**The
cast of the upcoming movie ‘Hot Tub Time Machine’ will be the guest hosts for ‘Raw’
on Monday March 29th in Phoenix,
Arizona the night after
WrestleMania 26.
**TNA has
released Traci Brooks, who has been with the company since June 2003 and is
married to current performer Frankie Kazarian. Brooks released the following
statement regarding her release:
Just wanted to take this time
to say yes i was released yesterday afternoon from TNA. There is nothing to
report or any stories on why…simply they had nothing for me. I loved my time at TNA and will look
back at my seven years with them with great fondness. TNA is a family and
unfortunately this is the nature of the beast with family members coming and
going. I will still be wrestling and doing conventions just like i have been
this whole time. Thank you to the
ring crew, camera men, production, creative and of course the
talent who i have shared so many good times with, my only sadness is not being
able to say goodbye to these people in person. I do have my ebay store
(tracibrooksdirect2u) where you can find traci brooks merch. My myspace which
is tnaknockouttracibrooks and my facebook which is traci brooks i do not or
have not ever had a twitter account and those 2 sites are my only social
network…so if anyone is following me on twitter sorry to say its not me, as
well as facebook..there is imposter’s but traci brooks is my only facebook
account..thanks again to my fans for always supporting me and for all the great
times i have had over the years. Looking forward to what life has in store for
me..god bless..and please watch TNA monday nights as i will still be cheering
on my family including my husband
