The LAW from Sunday night
featuring former WWE creative team member David
Lagana, who is now a producer for Ring of Honor and they will be up in Mississauga, Ontario
on March 20th. Plus Dave Meltzer joined the show to chat about the
passing of Angelo Poffo and tonight’s head to head battle between the WWE and
TNA and tons of calls.

**When you download The
LAW you will also receive the latest edition of ‘Review a Wai’ at the end of
The LAW, this week Wai and I review ‘WrestleMania 9′ featuring exclusive
comments from Bret Hart discussing his match with Yokozuna that year and Hulk
Hogan’s role on the show.

**Tonight is the official
kick off of the Monday night battle between the WWE and TNA with both shows
going head to head at 9pm EST in the United States (TNA will have a 15 minute
lead time on ‘Raw’ in Canada). TNA is going into this show with the same mentality of January 4th and a
mindset of surprising the viewers and getting the most talk coming out of the
show, however that mindset is offset by a limited amount of talking going into the
show, which are the two elements a good show wants to achieve. TNA is now
promoting Sting will be on the show on their website and begs the question why
there could not have been an insertion into last Thursday’s show. The two big
surprises are expected to be Rob Van Dam and Jeff Hardy as well as a video the
promotion put together about a big angle that will be shot in the first five
minutes of the show. The positive is that TNA had the more newsworthy and
exciting show on January 4th and with the idea that they are going
head to head and returning to Monday night you will definitely get more
curiosity viewers tonight but the goal is to retain that audience each week,
which they failed to do post January 4th on Thursday nights.

**TNA ‘Impact’ is
headlined by the tag match with A.J Styles & Ric Flair Vs Hulk Hogan &
Abyss. This is Ric Flair’s first free TV match since March 24th 2008
where he faced Vince McMahon on ‘Raw’ while Hogan has not wrestled on free TV since
July 4th 2005 on an edition of ‘Raw’ in a tag match. The whole show
has been built around this match along with the internet promotion of the first
five minutes of the show and Sting returning. It has also been announced that
Kevin Nash & Eric Young will address Scott Hall & Sean Waltman, which
is likely to set up a tag match on tonight’s show. I would also expect Samoa
Joe returns tonight with whatever new look or gimmick they will be giving him.
In addition they have the ‘Destination X’ event on March 21st, which
currently has three matches announced and if it weren’t for the contracts with
the cable outlets, this would be a show to cancel and focus on ‘Lockdown’ in
April. The ratings will tell the story of just how much of a detriment running
head to head is as opposed to going 8-10pm EST and guaranteeing a strong hour
to average out the overall number but it has always been the belief of Eric
Bischoff to run head to head rather than capitalize on an unopposed hour and
that dates back to when he was attempting to purchase WCW in early 2001 when ‘Monday
Nitro’ was running 8-10pm EST as one of the changes he wanted to make back
then.

**WWE ‘Raw’ takes place in
Portland, Oregon tonight at the Rose Garden headlined by John Cena Vs Vince
McMahon as well as Randy Orton Vs Ted DiBiase & Cody Rhodes with Criss
Angel serving as guest host. It’s a show that has not been designed as a show
that is going head to head with competition nor are they in a vulnerable position
though putting Vince McMahon in a match is at least something on their part,
but which promises to be a smoke and mirrors match with some Batista
involvement one would imagine. The WWE has already announced that The
Undertaker will open up the show tonight.

**Here are the matches on
Ring of Honor tonight at 8pm and 11pm EST on HD Net:
*Claudio Castagnoli &
Chris Hero Vs The Bravado Brothers
*Rasche Brown Vs Caleb
Konley
*Kenny King Vs El Genercio
in the Quarter Finals of the TV Title tournament
*Kevin Steen Vs Rhett
Titus in the Quarter Finals of the TV Title tournament

**The WWE will be
releasing another DVD on The Undertaker on June 6th entitled ‘The
Undertaker’s Most Dangerous Matches’.

**Fight Network Radio has
returned after studio renovations. On today’s program I chat with Ariel Helwani
of MMAFighting.com on the WEC 47 event from this past weekend, the UFC
Primetime series that debuts this Wednesday and much more,
