LAW Sept 3 Update – Aloisia off NXT?

By:  | Posted: Friday, September 3rd, 2010 at 3:33 pm.

**The WWE has posted on their website that Vickie Guerrero has fired her rookie Aloisia prior to the start of Season 3 of ‘NXT’. The advertising on Tuesday built the entire season around Aloisia and her size as the big stand out of the series.

**Here are
the matches set for ‘Smackdown’ tonight, that were taped this past Tuesday in Albany, New York:
*Christian
Vs Drew McIntyre
*Michelle
McCool Vs Kelly Kelly
*Dolph
Ziggler Vs Chris Masters in a non title match
*CM Punk
& Luke Gallows Vs Big Show
*Cody
Rhodes Vs Matt Hardy

**The ‘Raw’
crew is in Puerto Rico this weekend with a show tonight in Ponce and then in
San Juan on Saturday night before travelling back Sunday for the TV tapings
Monday night in Washington, D.C.

**The ‘Smackdown’
crew starts of their weekend house shows in Binghamton,
New York and Sunday in White Plains, New York
with the shows headlined by Kane Vs Big Show for the World Title.

**TNA is
in Woodstock, Virginia
on Saturday night for their lone house show of the weekend, headlined by Kurt
Angle Vs Jeff Hardy and then have the ‘No Surrender’ pay per view on Sunday
night in Orlando.

**Tonight
Jason Agnew and I wrap up our week with ‘The Late Shift’ on Newstalk 1010 in Toronto and we will be
joined by Tom Wright, the Director of Operations for UFC Canada and taking your
phone calls at 416-872-1010. Tune in at 10pm EST on Newstalk 1010 or listen
online at www.newstalk1010.com. We
are also on Twitter @lateshift1010.

**This
Sunday night on The LAW we will have a complete review of the TNA ‘No Surrender’
event along with Dave Meltzer of the ‘Wrestling Observer Newsletter’ and taking
your phone calls on the show and events from the past week at 1-888-942-7326.
We will also be joined by Charlie Haas this Sunday night to discuss the Ring of
Honor ‘Glory by Honor IX’ main event with Haas and Shelton Benjamin taking on
Claudio Castagnoli and Chris Hero in the main event of the show next weekend.
Tune in on The Score Radio on Sirius 98 this Sunday night at 11pm EST.

**Here is
the full lineup for the TNA ‘No Surrender’ card Sunday night at the Impact
Zone, which even I forgot was this weekend and on with it being on the long
weekend as well as a ‘get us to the next PPV’ themed show I think we’re going
to see a very low number for this one:
*Kurt
Angle Vs Jeff Hardy in the semi finals of the TNA Title tournament
*The Pope
Vs Mr. Anderson in the semi finals of the TNA Title tournament
*A.J
Styles Vs Tommy Dreamer in an ‘I Quit Match’ for the TV Title
*Motor City
Machine Guns Vs London
Brawling for the TNA Tag Titles
*Douglas
Williams Vs Sabu for the X Division Title
*Abyss Vs
Rhino in a ‘Falls Count Anywhere Match’
*Kevin
Nash & Sting Vs Jeff Jarrett & Samoa
Joe
*Velvet
Sky Vs Madison Rayne

**A
special programming note that there will be no TNA ‘Impact’ next Thursday due
to a marathon being run by Spike TV. TNA will be doing a special ‘Bound for
Glory’ kick off show on their website at www.tnawrestling.com hosted by Jeremy Borash, who will be joined by Dixie Carter to take questions
from viewers and will also feature interviews from talent.

**Dixie
Carter also posted the following note on Twitter promoting the October 7th edition of ‘Impact’:

TNA iMPACT! is going LIVE on 10/7. Remember my tweet about how TNA is
going to change forever? Stay tuned.

**The
early number out for the July ‘Money in the Bank’ pay per view has the show at
189,000 buys worldwide, which is below what I expected with the concept going
into the show. The number could lead to the company deciding to leave the
gimmick to a WrestleMania only themed match rather than have it over exposed
with its own pay per view in 2011. The show was one of the best WWE shows of
the year but the quality of the show is not going to be reflected in the
business it generates.

**Ring of
Honor announced this week that they have signed The Briscoe Brothers, Chris
Hero and Claudio Castagnoli to new contracts and noted that Hero’s deal is an
extension while Castagnoli has signed a brand new deal. This is a huge coup for
the company to hold onto these four talents as the WWE is being very aggressive
in signing developmental talent and I assumed it would only be a matter of time
before they scoop up Hero and Castagnoli, who have both have the size, look and
ability the company covets.

**If you’re
a disgruntled WWE wrestler, it’s best to vent your frustrations to co-workers
either in person or on the phone, unless you’re Matt Hardy and post the
following on Twitter:

Gotta state this. I’m sick & tired of being ‘hurt’,
being misused, & not being shown the respect that I’ve earned-something has
to change.

**Justin
Long comments on the August 16th edition of ‘Raw’ where he joined
Jason Sudeikis and Charlie Day as the guest hosts of the program:

In no way am I being self-deprecating when I say that
was a disaster. It was just not the audience to be promoting a movie like that to. We were so out of place. It was just awkward…They’re all fired
up to see guys pummeling each other, not to see three nerdy comedy guys do some
bits. They played the trailer for this crowd and it just silenced them – and not in a good way. You
just commit to it as best you can. We were in Los Angeles
at the Staples
Center, and the only time we really had the audience on our
side was when we were praising the Lakers. And before that I think the majority
of them were contemplating throwing things at us. There were a few homophobic
remarks. I don’t want to generalize it, I know some wrestling fans. But it’s
just not the audience.

**Ring of
Honor has announced that the following matches have been added to the September
11th ‘Glory by Honor IX’ event in Manhatten, New York:
*Austin
Aries Vs Christopher Daniels
*Eddie
Edwards Vs Shawn Daivari for the ROH Television Title

**Ring of
Honor is holding a training seminar on October 3rd in Philadelphia at
the company’s headquarters and training facility and will be run by Jim
Cornette, and will be assisted by Cary Silken, David Lagana, Hunter ‘Delirious’
Johnston and Jerry Lynn.

**Northeast
Wrestling (a really strong drawing independent company) has a loaded show set
for October 1st in Waterbury, Connecticut headlined by Shelton
Benjamin Vs Bryan Danielson along with Awesome Kong Vs Mickie James and Carlito
Vs Rob Eckos (recent TNA signing, who will be doing a Jersey Shore gimmick
along with Becky Bayless). They have also announced Tommy Dreamer appearing on
the show but not wrestling on the show.

**TNA has
announced a television deal to begin airing ‘Impact’ in France on Ma
Chaine Sport (MCS) beginning September 10th with an 8pm timeslot.
They will also be making the TNA pay per views available in the country through
the station’s on demand service beginning with ‘Bound for Glory’ on October 10th.

**Combat
Zone Wrestling has announced they will be holding a special tribute show for
the late J.C Bailey on September 18th in Indianapolis, Indiana
at the Fountain Square Salvation Army Gym with all of the proceeds going to
Bailey’s family. They have announced Drake Younger, Bull Pain, Mickie Knuckles,
Jon Moxley and Ian Rotten among others for the show.

**Hell has
officially frozen over as Jim Cornette is now on Twitter @TheJimCornette.

**We will
have a one hour interview with Larry Matysik posted on the site this Monday
discussing the recent passing of Mickey Garagiola and some of the contextual
issues within the industry right now.
