TNA No Surrender Preview

On Sunday night TNA presents ‘No Surrender’ from the Impact
Zone in Orlando, Florida as a set up show for ‘Bound for Glory’ next month. The
LAW breaks down the card and will have a full review Sunday night at 11pm EST
on The Score Radio on Sirius 98.

KURT ANGLE VS JEFF
HARDY IN THE SEMI FINALS OF THE TNA TITLE TOURNAMENT

Dan ‘The Mouth’
Lovranski
I
suspect that Angle will go over here since they have been keeping him really
strong with his climb back to contender status. Plus, who knows what is up with
Hardy and his court case, and why would you want to set up something that could
blow up in your face later? Oh, yeah, it’s TNA. I still see Angle going over
here.

Jason Agnew
Should
be a good match, and these two guys are big names… yet for some reason
(perhaps due to the abruptness of this asinine tournament I have no interest in
this match.  Kurt Angle wins.

John Pollock
Jeff Hardy has had his
moments this year in TNA but it’s a far cry from the body of matches he was
putting together in the WWE over the course of 2008 and 2009. I do expect Hardy
to be up for this one as they are being positioned as the main event and will
have lots of time. The Kurt Angle title chase has become the focal point of
this tournament as they have scrapped his storyline of going through each
contender to being placed in the tournament and being two wins away from
winning the title. Angle has the story attached to the title chase and he
should advance to the finals however, if it was me I feel Hardy is the more
over talent and the guy I would be placing in the main event slot for next
month.

THE POPE VS MR.
ANDERSON

Dan ‘The Mouth’
Lovranski
The
Pope seemed to have some potential a few months back, but some bad booking and
an injury kind of stalled things. I think he’s just a stepping stone here for
Anderson, so we get Angle vs Anderson in the final.

Jason Agnew
Nice to see The Pope back on TV in a prominent
role.  Oh yeah, and he’s losing here.

John Pollock
I don’t think the
build behind this was what it could have been despite the efforts. The
storyline reason for The Pope being out of action was because of an attack by
Anderson, Pope returns and all of a sudden Anderson is a babyface and the meat
of this program would have been Pope pissed off that that everyone loves this
guy, who attacked him and put him on the shelf. The company seems incredibly
high on Anderson and he should advance to the finals.

A.J STYLES VS TOMMY
DREAMER IN AN ‘I QUIT MATCH FOR THE TELEVISION TITLE

Dan ‘The Mouth’
Lovranski
I guess the obvious joke here is this match will
definitely be a “styles clash” for both participants. AJ has his work
cut out for him here, and I expect a lot of brawling. I sure hope they don’t
make AJ say I quit, but anything could happen in TNA. I think AJ should come
out on top and this gets ECW moving out the door.

Jason Agnew
AJ
wins, and Tommy should retire.

John Pollock
Remember when Styles
declared the Global Title was being re-branded the Television Title and he
would defend it each week on TV only to not defend it once on TV? From a logic
stand point didn’t we see Dreamer lose to Raven clean at the last pay per view
or was that not supposed to count because it was a reunion show? The positives
of the Fortune Vs EV 2.0 angle is that Styles has really come a long way on the
microphone and this how he should have been booked when Ric Flair first came
rather than Styles playing mini Ric. I’m not invested enough for these two to
have an ‘I Quit’ match and think it’s going to be a tall order for these two to
gel with such contrasting styles.

THE MOTOR CITY
MACHINE GUNS VS DESMOND WOLFE & MAGNUS FOR THE TAG TITLES

Dan ‘The Mouth’
Lovranski
If
they use Magnus right, this could be the match of the night for in-ring. The
Guns are finally getting what they deserve, so I hope they let them hold the
spotlight for a bit. I think the Guns will retain, but the feud with Magnus and
Wolfe can continue.

Jason Agnew
If we can keep Magnus’s role to a minimum, then
this will be a good match.  Even though they were thrown together very
quickly i like the team of Magnus / Wolfe, I even like the name of “London
Calling” and will be interested in hearing their theme music when they
come to the ring for the obvious remake of The Clash.

John Pollock
I don’t know if I’m in
the minority but I’m loving the team of London Brawling and feel they work off
of each so well especially in the vignette where they went to the mall. Magnus’
new character is great and Wolfe is a very underrated promo, I’m personally
happier Wolfe is part of this rather than a background player in Fortune. The
Machine Guns are super hot coming off of the Beer Money series of matches and
it’s not the right time to take the titles off of them so I pick them to retain
and would be happy with this feud continuing as London Brawling continues to
evolve as they’ve had limited time on TV together.

DOUGLAS WILLIAMS VS
SABU FOR THE X DIVISION TITLE

Dan ‘The Mouth’
Lovranski
This one is a tough call.  I could see them
wanting to put it on Sabu because he was, at one time, the epitome of the X
Division, with tons of high flying and acrobatic style moves. But the thing is,
does he have what it takes in 2010 to carry a title full time? I really
like Douglas Williams in this role, but I think this is the one match that EV
2.0 wins on this show.

Jason Agnew
Very interesting match.  I suspect we’re going
to look down he line and see a big “Fortune” night, therefore I’ll
take Williams for the win here.

John Pollock
Sabu worked fine at
the pay per view last month and I’m curios to see how the two work together on
Sunday night. There is zero build for this match outside of the fact each
faction has sent a guy to represent them. The dynamic coming out of the show
should be Fortune destroying EV 2.0 and leading to a big angle with everything
on the line.

ABYSS VS RHINO IN A
‘FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE MATCH’

Dan ‘The Mouth’
Lovranski
I’m
guessing that Abyss is getting the win here after Stevie Richards pinned him on
Impact this week. So it looks like we might get one victory out of EV 2.0,
with Sabu taking the X Division title. Hopefully, that means the feud is
over and the ECW guys can fade on out of there.

Jason Agnew
Abyss’ reign of terror continues, he beats Rhino…
let’s face it, everyone beats Rhino.

John Pollock
The company lost their
mind at the recent TV tapings. They booked Abyss Vs Stevie Richards on the ‘go
home’ edition of Impact and STEVIE RICHARDS PINNED ABYSS. What was the point of
that? Abyss is your top heel right now that you would think would be booked as
a monster to set up the eventual Rob Van Dam return and instead he’s putting
over Stevie Richards? One of the most illogical booked matches on TV this year
and as a result how is Abyss even perceived as a threat? Stupid.

KEVIN NASH &
STING VS JEFF JARRETT & SAMOA JOE

Dan ‘The Mouth’
Lovranski
I
really hate the way Joe has become just some kind of fill-in guy whenever they
need an angle or match. Nash and Sting were scheduled to feud with Hogan and
Bischoff, but Hogan probably can’t do anything in ring, so Joe is thrown in
with no real reason why. If I had my way, Joe would turn on Jarrett, and
obliterate all three of them.

Jason Agnew
I have no interest in this match at all… who
wins? who cares.

John Pollock
I don’t know what to
say…I just don’t know.

VELVET SKY VS MADISON
RAYNE

Dan ‘The Mouth’
Lovranski
I still want to know how someone gets past security and building
staff riding a motorcycle right into an arena. Nevertheless, I see Velvet
getting the win here when Madison tries to cork Velvet with Tara’s helmet
again, but Velvet stops it, corks Madison, and gets the pinfall, all right in
front of those watchful TNA refs and security.

Jason Agnew
I think we get the motorcycle rider unmasked on
this show.  And Sky comes out on top here.

John Pollock
I think they should
build this match around the mysterious biker aligning herself with Madison
Rayne and as a result of all of her interference Angelina Love aligns with Sky
and says that at the PPV she is going to even the odds and be in the corner of
Sky and PROMISES to unmask this biker and therefore drive interest behind who
this mysterious woman is and people order the pay per view for the reveal and
then at the end of the match they deliver on the stip and unmask the biker to
reveal Tara…I’m going to go watch Impact now and see how they build to this
moment on their revenue stream a.k.a pay per view.
