Match #1 Shelton Benjamin
vs. Zack Ryder
:

After Shelton gets to the
ring, here is Zack Ryder with Rosa Mendez and sunglasses. The
bell rings and Zack hauls it to the outside of the ring.  ZR gets
on the ring apron where Shelton brings him into the ring over the ropes.
ZR backs into a corner as SB walks over to ZR and ZR tries to sneak
in a kick but it’s caught by SB who throws a big right hand. SB follows
with a short clothesline, a takeover and goes for pin but ZR kicks out
at one.  When ZR gets to his feet, SB gives a neckbreaker to ZR
then follows with a headlock putting ZR on the mat. As ZR starts to
make it to his feet, he and SB make it to the corner and as the ref
breaks it up, ZR sneaks in a right hand and SB is down and throws some
punches in for good measure. The ref breaks it up and as ZR steps toward
SB, SB gets a punch in to the gut followed by a knee. SB puts ZR in
a piledriver position (we know that is not going to happen) but ZR reverses
it and tosses SB over the ropes but SB hangs onto the ropes and does
the “skin the cat” move where he brings himself back into the ring.
ZR notices this, runs towards SB and SB tosses him over the ropes onto
the floor. (back from commercial)

Zack Ryder has Shelton Benjamin
across the bottom rope and keeps putting pressure across the back ZR
is keeping SB down on the mat but SB starts to make it up, he gives
elbows to the midsection of ZR, then SB goes to the ropes and on the
comeback, ZR gives a knee to the midsection of SB, goes for a cover
and SB kicks out at two.

ZR has SB down again, but
after a while, SB gets a knee up to the temple of ZR. Both wrestlers
make it to their feet. Both wrestlers off the ropes and it’s a double
clothesline in the ring. The camera shows Rosa Mendez getting up out
of her chair with a cellphone. She gets close to the ring and throws
the cellphone inside the ring where Zack picks it up and she gets in
the ring and Zack says “You got to move?” Both Rosa and ZR move
over to a corner, meanwhile Shelton leaps toward Zack but Zack (good
heel move here) gets out of the way so Shelton stops his leap to keep
from hitting Rosa but he is on the turnbuckle where Zach gets him and
slams Shelton to the mat hitting the back of head.

Zach goes for the pin and
gets it because Shelton is out!

Winner: Zack Ryder. Match
Rating 3 out of 5
.

Good match with lukewarm crowd
and good heel ending.

Next, “AskThe Divas”

Question One: Do You Believe
In Love At First Sight? Beth Phoenix answers “I believe in love at
first fight!” (Is she in character?)

Question Two: What’s The
Best Way To Break The Ice On A First Date? Beth says “Make the other
person laugh”, Alicia says “tell a joke”, The Bellas (one of them
at least) says “be yourself”

and Melina says “be honest”.

Let’s review the answers
on question two: Make the other person laugh, Tell a joke, Be yourself,

and Be honest…………………That’s
It! NO MORE ASK THE DIVAS!  I need honest answers. Thanks.

Start back with a look at
the Rey Mysterio vs. Batista fued. Next  the ring announcer introduces
Vickie Guerrero and immediately the crowd tries to drown her out! She
tries three “excuse me’s”

before she moves on to introduce
Eric Escobar.

Match #2 Jimmy Wang Yang
vs. Eric Escobar:

Escobar has Jimmy on the mat
for a while but finally when both get to a corner, the ref steps in
to break it up and when when EE runs toward JWY, Jimmy catches him with
an elbow followed by a dropkick and some flying kicks then a crossbody
and a try for a pin and EE kicks out at two. EE pushes JWY to a corner
when he gets to his feet and charges but JWY gets the boots up and knocks
down EE. JWY goes to the top turnbuckle and EE rolls out of the ring.
JWY climbs down and starts arguing with Vickie while he’s on the ring
apron. EE sneaks in and takes JWY’s legs out from under him. JWY rolls
into the ring and EE makes a running jump up dropkick that knocks out
Jimmy. Eric covers and gets the three!

Winner: Eric Escobar. Match
Rating: 2 out of 5
.

Work was ok but crowd went
somewhere during the match and just a showcase for Escobar.

The WWE Superstars Promo for
this week is a good one for Drew McIntyre from Smackdown.

Then there is a Raw Rebound
tribute to Madison Square Garden with highlights from the past and the
Raw show that took place there this past Monday.

Match #3 Mark Henry vs.
Cody Rhodes:

Cody is in the ring and out
walks Mark Henry to a good ovation from the MSG crowd for the veteran.
CR starts the match with a punch that gets no reaction from MH except
Henry tries to throw one back making CR scramble around the ring to
get out of the way. CR tries a kick, it’s caught by MH who pushes
him away. They are talkin’ smack to each other, CR tries another punch,
no reaction from MH. CR tries another punch, and MH blocks and picks
up CR for an overhead slam but CR rakes the eyes, gets out of it, tries
a run off the ropes but MH just stands there to knock him down on the
comeback. CR gets up quick and fools MH into charging a corner where
CR can get the feet up and MH runs into it. Then CR goes to the top
of the turnbuckle but is caught by MH who throws him almost across the
ring! MH comes in with a charging clothesline and Cody rolls out of
the ring.

(back from commercial)

Mark Henry is still in charge
when Cody Rhodes goes outside the ring for a rest near the steps and
MH goes out after him but CR kicks the steps into MH.  CR tries
to push MH back in the ring, this gets a laugh from the crowd. Cody
then goes in the ring to try and bring Mark back in but MH grabs CR
and gives a headbutt! As MH makes his way back in the ring, Cody recovers
and delivers a tackle to the left leg of MH and starts to work on it.
(In a bad way of course) CR goes up to the middle turnbuckle and drops
a knee to the back of the leg of MH who is in big pain. CR goes back
to stomps and dropping the elbow across the injured leg. CR then bouncing
off the ropes and does a low crossbody on MH, goes for a pin and MH
up at two! CR then tries a Terry Funk spinning toe hold and MH simply
pushes him out of the ring with the good leg. Cody gets back in the
ring but Mark is there to deliver two headbutts followed by a throw
off the ropes and when Cody bounces off, Mark gives him a flip that
looks like it will send Cody to the concession stand but instead he
lands solid on the mat.  Cody is up in a corner and Mark throws
him out of it to the opposite corner where CR bounces off the turnbuckles
and over to MH who tries to pick CR up but Cody slips off which injures
the left leg of Henry. Rhodes starts toward Henry but MH gives him a
clothesline. Rhodes is down, and Henry walks over to him and picks up
Cody and delivers “the world’s strongest slam”. The ref makes
the count and it’s a pin and a win for MH!

Winner: Mark Henry. Match
Rating: 3 ½ out of 5.  Show Rating: 3 out of 5.

That is a surprise, maybe
even a good one if you appreciate the guys who have been around a while
in VinceLand like Mark Henry, when you think about it.  No I don’t
think Mark Henry will start trying high flying moves! Cody Rhodes remains
in the right direction but maybe WWE should bring back managers who
can talk for the wrestler when the wrestler has good ring skills but
trouble with the acting part. Just a thought.

Talk To Ya Later,  after
the next WWE Superstars.
